gregyboy:I have always warned that you should always have smarter people proof-read your screenshots before attaching them, because it always turns out that you shoot yourself PUBLICLY. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (1) "The curve" --- that is, the parentheses says: Since the early 1500s, European writtings have been documenting the Ife-Benin relationship. (2) "The square" --- that is, the rectangle sheds some light on what those 1500s European sources say. The sources are noted to confirm that: (i) Benin Kings descend from the Ooni of Ife. (ii) Benin Kings heads are buried in ife. (3) "The circle" --- that is, the oval says: (i) Scholars accept what these 1500s European sources say as is, and actually shed more light on them. (ii) Egharevba himself admits what these 1500s European sources say about sending late Obas' heads to Ife. (iii) Bradbury admits what these 1500s European sources say that the Ooni is the father to the Benin King. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thank you gregyboy for reminding me to highlight all the foregoing points as successively highlighted in your attachment. At this point, I strongly doubt that you are truly loyal to the Benin Palace. I am beggining to suspect that you're a mole among Benin Nairalanders. I think you're secretly working for the Ogiamien dynasty against the Benin Palace's interest. cc: davidnazee. |

TAO11:Why are you always so angry?? You can't win an arguement you result to insults.. Well all that doesn't change the fact that you are dumb and shallow.. anyways since u keep asking for sources that won't change your mind on your deluded beliefs here is some for u. The first attachment is a list of Obas compiled at different times. the circle indicates a list from 1898.. There is no mention of Oranmiyan there, till the Talbot list from 1930.. The second attachment confirms Talbot as being the first person to decieve the Yorubas that Oduduwa/Oramiyan founded Benin Kingdom. Now you can continue with your foolish arguement.

davidnazee: gregyboy:It is my pleasure to begin flogging both of you again as I always do. Flogging you is my favorite pastime, and I hope not to have any reason to forgive you and stop the flogging in the forseable future. Now, I will begin by summarizing your two primary claims. Your claims: ------------------- (1). Roupell's king-list does not contain Oranmiyan's name, hence Oranmiyan never existed, or --- even if he did --- never came to Benin, let alone establish his son (Eweka1) as King. (2) The earliest written record of the tradition ascribing the origin of Benin's 2nd dynasty to Ife was by Talbot (1926), hence Talbot made up the story from thin air. Now, notice that each of your two claims have two parts each to it, namely: a part which is found in your attachment, and another part which is fueled only by your pain and misery. ![]() I am about to break your heart now. ... But if you think there is any, then you know what to do ... bring it on. ![]() Q. E. D. |

cc: davidnazee, gregyboy Informing the Sane Public: ------------------------------------------- (i) Regarding davidnazee's first claim about the absence of Oranmiyan's name from Roupell's king-list, it is well known (except to the unacquainted) that some traditional Benin accounts (on one hand) regard Oranmiyan's stay at Benin as being simply to the effect of laying the foundation for the new dynasty without he himself actually ruling officially as Oba. While the other traditional Benin accounts (on another hand) maintain that while he was at Benin, Oranmiyan did in fact rule Benin Kingdom as Oba. The contention is about whether or not he was officially Oba. None of these two traditional Benin accounts mentions anywhere (or even suggests) that Oranmiyan did not visit Benin, or that he did not establish a dynasty in Benin. In fact, it is obvious from the two accounts that there is a crystal clear agreement to the effect that Oranmiyan did indeed visit Benin, and that he did indeed establish a dynasty there. An evidence of the existence of these two traditional views (among the Binis) played out during Oba Ewuare2's coronation ceremony where when he should have been pronounced the 39th Oba (considering the chronology adopted by the reign(s) before him), he in fact, pronounced himself the 40th Oba thus identifying with the other chronology. In the light of this underlying background information, it therefore becomes crystal clear which of these two traditional Benin views Roupell was getting his king-list information from in Benin in the year 1898, considering the opening name in his king-list. (ii) Regarding davidnazee's second claim, G. A. Akinola (1976), p.21-22. whom the first part of this claim comes from writes and I quote here: " ... the earliest written record of the tradition ascribing the foundation of the present Benin dynasty to an Ife prince was by Talbot some time in the third decade of this century." G. A. Akinola writing in the year 1976 asserts that the earliest written record of an Ife origin for Benin's present dynasty was by P. A. Talbot (1926). However, a broader and more contemporary examination of the present updated knowledge on the Ife-Benin relationship shows clearly that G.A. Akinola (and anyone before him with similar thoughts) was quite limited in his access to the earliest extant documents on the subject. His assertion in this regard is therefore terribly mistaken as a more updated access to the earliest extant documents on the subject will show. Some 28 years after G. A. Akinola's work, in the year 2004, the prominent and prolific Russian anthropologist, africanist, and historian of pre-colonial Benin Kingdom, Dmitri M. Bondarenko did confirm in his "Advent of the Second ("Oba" ) Dynasty" that there exists early-1500s European writings which records the Ife origin of the present Benin dynasty. Earlier yesterday, gregyboy interestingly supported this point by helping to highlight some more details which sheds light on these early-1500s European writings. Some of the details he highlighted include that these early-1500s European writings confirm that the Kings of Benin Kingdom are descended from the Ooni of Ife. ... Nothing can be more emphatic. ![]() In sum, davidnazee's delusions that Talbot made up the story from thin air (a statement with zero scholarly support to begin with), therefore, evaporates in the light of deeper, broader and more objective scrutiny. ![]() |

cc: davidnazee, gregyboy Catching Some Fun Off His Bigotry: ----------------------------------------------------------- To tease him a little by indulging his outstanding idiocy, let's pretend for the moment that the absence of a name from Roupell's king-list truly means that such a name is a latter forgery, or that such a person does not exist altogether. If he is to be consistent with such warped and insanely idiotic reasoning, then his conclusion will be that Talbot et al. continues to decieve all Binis (including their Obas till date) into thinking that the reigning Oba is the 40th when he should in fact be the 27th. ![]() This is because Roupell's king-list shows only 23 pre-1897 Benin Obas, whereas you all have been deceived till date into thinking that there are 36 pre-1897 Benin Obas. A deception of only 13 forged and fabricated Benin Obas isn't that bad I guess! TAO11:You are still finding it difficult to get past your audio claim of Ife founding Benin Kingdom.. Where is your evidence or any early written account before Talbot story confirming Ife as founders of Benin Kingdom? Both traditional accounts you mentioned were first heard after Talbot story and not before.. Bondarenko you quoted as saying that early-1500s European writings which records the Ife origin of the present Benin dynasty exits never cited any of the records in his book, if it indeed existed he would have written about it in his book rather than speculate. You are just a talker, nothing else.. Just like Yoruba recordless history, so also is your foolish claim.. no record or evidence. |

TAO11:Only a shallow person can come up with this type of reasoning and you never fail to disappoint.. About Roupell's list.. how can He miss such an interesting and astonishing information during his research? If indeed the greatest Kingdom during his time was founded by a mere and dilapitated village some kilometers away he would have surely benn told and would have mentioned it in his book.. When he was compling his list he would have been told the oramiyan story if it really happened.. Roupell did his reseach in Benin in 1898 and there was no mention of Oramiyan founding Benin kingdom.. Talbot got his story from Yorubas in 1926. No matter how much audio claim you will play, it doesn't sell.. If you like write all your long nonsense, it still doesn't prove anything.. |

davidnazee:I knew I was about to make someone cry as I was clicking "Submit" after typing those comments. ![]() (1) My evidence for the existence of the early-1500s European writtings (which confirms Ife as the origin of Benin's present dynasty) lies in the clear confirmation (by the leading scholar of pre-colonial Benin Kingdom, D. M. Bondanrenko) of the existence of such early European writings. So, if you insist that such early writtings did not exist, then you have the burden of proof to provide evidence that D. M. Bondarenko hates you and your Kingdom. ![]() A classic case of delusions wrapped with persecution complex and some bigotry spice. ![]() (2) A claim is being made here. So, being my 2nd dullest student (after gregyboy) I wouldn't mind reminding you that a proof must follow every claim. So, bring it on ... good boy! ![]() (3) It's my first time hearing that if an historical authority alludes cursorily to some writings which he didn't quote from, etc. --- then, this is the proof we need that such writings does not exist. Interesting! Where did you get this sort of reasoning from? Definitely from Benin. ![]() Let me put this warped reasoning of yours to test, and observe how well (or how poorly) it would fare: Me: ... An indigenous Bini writer mentioned in the 1940s that the exhumed heads of certain late Bini Obas are taken to Ife for burial ... You: TAO, is that a quote from the 1940s work of the indigenous Bini writer? Me: Nope! You: Hurray! I found proof that the work doesn't exist. In the light of the foregoing test, I would be generous enough to let you be your own judge regarding your own reasoning. ![]() But I personally don't think that an ordinary cockroach will even dare stoop that low. ![]() In any case, refer to my point (1) if you truly feel D. M. Bondarenko hates you. ![]() (4) I actually expected to see some ocean of tears from you! ![]() Cheers! |

davidnazee:(1) Yes, you're correct about your opening statement. Only a shallow, dvmb, ret@rded, and autistic mind like yours can come up with such reasoning to the effect that the absense of a name from a list is tantamount to the non-existence of the bearer of that name. (2) The following (presumably) Obas of Benin are also not found in Roupell's list which you suddenly love and trust so much: Ehenmihen, Edoni, Udagbedo, Egbeka, Orobiru, Uwaifiokun, Ewuare, Akenzae, Akengboi, Akenkpaye, Ore-Oghene, Ozuere, and Ogbebo. The following is an echo of your shallow line of thought if consistently applied to this bunch of missing names: All these foregoing so-called Obas of Benin who are clearly not found in Roupell's 1899 list are nothing but fake. We Binis have all been deceived till date. Even the so-called Ewuare the Great who is said to have transformed Benin into an Empire is nothing but fake. "When he [Roupell] was compling his list he would have been told the Ewuare story if it really happened ... Roupell did his reseach in Benin in 1898 and there was no mention of [the existence of any Ewuare or any of the so-called Obas listed above]." "How can he miss such an interesting and astonishing information during his research? If indeed [Benin truly became an empire or at least a great Kingdom courtesy of a so-called Ewuare] he would have surely benn [sic] told and would have mentioned it in his book." Now, it is my prayer that the foregoing echo of your shallow reasoning forces you back to sanity, Amen! Please note that I am aware that the source of your attachment on the king-lists is simply from R.E. Bradbury's 1959 work. So, it's hightime you stopped giving-off the false impression that you accessed Roupell's original to see that he didn't document certain stories alongside a king-list. Lol. Moreover, I have already shown to sane readers that Roupell's Bini informant(s) obviously subscribe to the traditional view which hold that Oranmiyan didn't officially rule as Oba when he visited Benin. (3) You wrote earlier that Talbot made up the story in 1926 and deceived Yorubas into believing it. Now you wrote that Talbot got the story from the Yorubas in 1926. Hello! I think you have to make up your mind. ![]() Having adviced that, anyone even slightly acquainted with Benin histroy would have already realized that Talbot was obtaining his information of Benin history from the Binis. In fact, we read in D.M. Bondarenko (2004), p.74. that what Talbot recorded was the "oral traditions of the Bini". Your confusion resolved. ![]() (4) I actually expected ocean of tears from you! ![]() |

davidnazee:TAO11 asked you for scholarly work to back up your claim, you gave her early history of Benin which was researched in Benin by a European in 1889. Amongst the Obas listed, Oranmiyan and Benin/Ife relationship were not mentioned. TAO11 came up with another twisted logic/lies and ask for more scholarly evidence. When she fails in her arguments, she retorts to insults, chest beating and self praises on how she's whipping all the Benin men to tears. Meanwhile, the Yorubas themselves have not come to agreement on the origin of Oduduwa himself, whether he came from Mecca, Sky or was an Ijesha man. What is not known to TAO11 and her likes is that every Edo person before 1897 regarded the Oba of Benin as the owner of all land, water and every living things on earth. This believe was literal. To the Edo people, the Oba of Benin was a God in human form, God almighty in heaven's representative on earth. It was God in heaven followed by the Oba of Benin. There was no any other human being above the Oba of Benin. Before 1897, the Ooni and Ife would have all been considered the property of the Oba of Benin. This is the reason that the later day revisionist from the Yorubas sounds very strange to the average Edo people, it's probably the reason late Oba Erediawa was shocked by the statement of the late Ooni welcoming him to Ife. Oba Erediawa had to quickly remind the Ooni that such a statement just a century earlier from any known African ruler would have resulted to the decapitation of that ruler. Good to know that Benin/Yoruba history has become a daily debate without shortages of audiences and debaters. The Yoruba should know that their fabricated history of Benin/Ife relationship is only local to them in Yoruba land. Their version is alien to the international communities that daily study Benin history. Ife is not even mentioned when Benin history classes are being taught in Europe, America and rest of the world. There was nothing documented, written or recorded about Oduduwa, Oranmiyan, Ooni, Ife Yufi and Ufe in Benin history in the first 400 years of Benin history. I know this must be very painful to TAO11, but it's what it is, it's too late to change the fact that Benin/Ife relationship is a 1930 creation. Benin/Ife history is only discussed from 1930. The previous 500 years of Benin history is unpolluted |

TAO11:Whatever you and your likes write about Benin, there are few things you will never be able to change and fabricate. 1. Benin/Ife history was first created in 1930 2. There are no mentions of Oduduwa, Oranmiyan, Ooni, Ife, Yufi, Yufe and Ife in the first 500 years of written, recorded and documented Benin history. 3. The first 500 years of Benin history is unpolluted by Yoruba fallacies and free from Yoruba fabrications. 4. The international communities doesn't recognise later day revisionist version of Benin/Yoruba history by the Yoruba. 5. Yoruba are yet to reconcile within themselves the origin of Oduduwa. 6. When Benin arts and history are being studied outside Nigeria, in Europe, America, etc, Ife is not mentioned. If you have any scholarly work that was written before 1897 that disproved what I have written, please share it. |

Many other benin kings were skipped in Roupell's list The list represents the most popular kings who ever ruled In Roupell's books not only did he omit the name oromiyan from the list but he never also mentioned it, in his book This only shows that oromiyan was coined later on for political aspirations |
