You are always contradicting yourself without knowledge of what you are arguing about. tbh

Gedevi is what Aja call a certain group of Yorubas from Ketu also known as Igede. And they were never defeated by the Aja persay because there was no war. They inter married with Yorubas until a person of mix origin became the first king.

As for your submission on Dahomey tributes to Oyo.

Actually the king of Dahomey begged Oyo no to destroy the capital but the Oyo Army looted the Dahomey kingdom. The king then begged Oyo Army not to take his life in exchange to be a tribute state to Oyo which they agreed.

@ Port Novo

Your submission on Port novo further exposed your ignorance on the topic. Just like Abaomey. Guns (Aja) also migrated to Ajase (Port Novo) and Lagos but lived independently from Yorubas. However. Majority of the population are still Yorubas

Your lies are very evident to any avid follower of this discourse. The Gedevis are not Yorubas and their land was exactly where Abomey(capital of Dahomey) was built. Even when you look at the Benin Map, you'll see that Ketu is far on the East while Abomey is far to the West. The Ketus are Yorubas no doubt. I'll attach pages to clear this once and for all. The Gedevis are not Yorubas hence the Fon people had the heritage of the Ajas and Gedevis plus other tribes they conquered subsequently.
I maintained that they only paid tribute to Oyo but still exercised a level of self governance as they continued controlling the trade at the coast. I'll attach pix too.
As for Porto Novo, you lied again. The question is this; who founded the city? Is it not an Aja Warrior? Who were the first kings of the city? The Fons. Who is the present king of the city? A Fon.

First of all you keep arguing on what you don't know. PortNovo also translate to New port as named by the Portuguese is also known as Ajase translate in Yoruba as we conquered or victorious.

I have left you a couple of links to cure your ignorance.

As for the Gedevi, it's clearly stated on the Fon people Wikipedia page that Gedevi was they used to refer to Yorubas

It's all politics. All it takes to get the loyalty and support of the igbo masses is just claim to be igbo or support igbo cause (like biafra), and they would be ready to die for you. It does not not matter whether you are Calabari, Ikwerre, Benin or even Yoruba. Ask Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan or Fani Kayode or even Fayose.

In reality the Aniomas trace their roots from different sources, some trace their roots to Benin and so claim they are not igbos, while some trace their roots to Anambra and so claim to be igbos.
See this descendant of a fallen Demon trying to tell us the Igbos in Delta our history undecided....Aniomas ancestry is from NRI in Anambra not your Bini PROPAGANDA ....

Even the Onitshas trace their roots to Benin. Onitsha was founded by the descendant of a Benin prince
wonderful I heard Imo and Anambra came from a Bini Prince while Abians and Ebonyi came from Oyo empires grin

Descendant of Angel Gabriel, are you Anioma? why not the Aniomas speak for themselves? Nnamdi Azikiwe must also be descendant of fallen demon, as he said even Onitsha can be traced to Bini heritage.

That's purely an error by the contributor of that Wikipedia write up. The pages I attached were well researched works and they confirmed the Gedevis to be non-Yorubas. You've just been presenting one wikipedia page on this particular subject since. I had to do further investigation to prove to you that the Gedevis were not Yorubas.

I logged in simply to say this: Oya see am!! Again I’ve been vindicated!! I kept on telling una SE igbo wey dey this forum that the pride of Igbo overshadows the Igbo deniers in Aniomaland. I and some Aniomas on this forum kept on saying they are minorities but, unfortunately the most loudest and to ignore them as the rest of us do but Nooooooooo. I was bashed, accused of being a liar and told I don’t know anything about what’s happening in my own homeland since, I live aboard. Infact, the last time I logged into this forum, I got into a huge argument with SE Igbos and next thing I know I was being accused of hating Igbo and being just like the deniers just because I defended my people against the usual bashing on us by some SE Igbos. Oya see am. Vindicated!! I need my apologies abeg. For all una wey they bash before tok say I dey lie, line up, I’m collecting apologies grin grin grin

Anyway serious talk, it is a shame that Twitter comments is what supposedly “settled” this argument. It sad how we always have to validate and announce our Igboness for SE to realize the idiots reporting to una that Anioma hates y’all are bastards trying to create tensions and turn una against your own brethren. Sad really that y’all haven’t seen their games yet. Anyway, much love to all Igbos be it SS or SE.

Oya let me go back to my hiatus
Ikechunna one love bro grin grin.

I'm sorry for disturbing you here sir, I was the guy you help here sometime ago, I'm grateful and may God bless you.
However, I came here to apologise and beg you for forgiveness sir, my mind is not just at rest since then and I have been longing to tell you. Actually I was not at school then(though I'm a student) Cox we're sent home Cox of the pandemic but I lied that I was in school, it is very tough for us when I came home as a result of the lockdown and you won't believe and want to help if I don't say I was in school then. It was not easy for us then even to eat was hard that's why l lied.
Please sir because of God almighty find a place in your heart to forgive me and I promise never to do that again. Thanks I appreciate!
No problem, I won't hold you against you. Not at all.

Your honesty is acknowledged and I hope you strive to maintain it.

Wish you the best.

As an Igboman from Anioma part of Igboland.
I find this thread a little bit annoying! Why can't we make a similar thread about Afikpo Igbos, Ngwa Igbos or Nsukka Igbos saying they are proud of being Igbo? Or another Igbo group? It is clear that Nigeria's Fulani leaders agenda since time immemorial has been to balkanize Igboland beginning with carving out Igbo people at the periphery of Igboland and joining them with other groups or other states as minority there. In our stupidity, we allowed them to do it for way too long.

Every true Anioma person that didn't benefit from the politics of Nigeria or Bendel State knows we have NEVER hidden our Igboness. Of course there were a few people that were motivated by the Nigerian regime to come out and say rubbish about our Igbo ancestry in their desperation to kill Biafran unity. Those people have been relegated to the dustbin of history. Moreso, Anioma Igbos singularly paid the biggest price by the genocide of our people during the civil war. If we were not Igbos, WHY WOULD FULANI SLAUGHTER US IN OUR VILLAGES?

Again, our sons volunteered and fought bravely during the Biafran war. Nobody especially Col. Murtala Mohammed will deny their fear of Col. Joe Achuzia. I know threads like this are started by Afonjas to do their bid. But, when I see respectable monikers falling for their deceit I worry about the new generation that does not know their history.
so so badt
it jst shw d level the divide and rule game has eaten deep in our system
