That Covid 19 continues to spread dangerously despite the lockdown at state and national levels.

Why?Simple:violation of laid down procedures by individuals and groups,more especially by exploiting the loopholes inherent in the exceptions granted.

Thus crowded markets and other places,are common phenomena, all in the name of obtaining,buying or selling of essentials and foods.

Suggested way forward:

If I were the president, the ffg measures would take effect at once:

1.Allow one week free,for people to gather money and food stuffs,whilst the sharing of free food and money continues nationwide.

2.Thereafter,declaration of total lockdown for 4 weeks with effect from May 4,without exceptions. Every individual or family must be restricted to their compound and houses,nationwide.

Only the police,army,the sick and health workers with authentic and verifiable identity must be seen on the streets .

3.Covid 19 testing and treatment centers should be available in at least every local govt.

4.One police officer with PPE,to accompany any purportedly sick person sighted on the street,only to the very nearest hospital,testing or treatment center.

Extra ordinary number of police officers would be deployed to the streets,every nook and corner,for this purpose.

5.Enforcement of the routine preventive measures such as wearing of face masks and other PPE,for those that must be out,such as the sick,police etc.

6.Enforcing the use of face mask and other routines at offices,schools,markets and other places,after the lock down.

7.All borders and flights remain closed until after vaccine or cure is found and the world records zero case of Convid 19.,except for strategic imports and exports.


Expected results:

1.Near zero spread of Convid 19.
2.Those that refused testing and treatment and probably,destined to die,would have done so,at home or hospital.

Also,those that could not be tested and adapt personal and in-house treatment and survival techniques would also have died.

3.Treatments continue for those in the hospital.

Better still,if these measures could be adopted by all countries and at the same time.

Thank God you are not. Your theory can not work in this country with the present set-up; where some people calmed to be more Nigerian than others..I will not say more than this.

The cost of implementation of preventive measures can never be more than that of the spread of the virus!

Authoritarian or Draconian Dictatorial measures but it worked for Wuhan, China. The problem is the Chinese leaders kept monies for a rainy day, they built a hospital in 8 days, the Chinese government provided palliative measures to its citizens and lastly the Chinese leaders are educated to University level (most are Western Educated). Nigeria on the other hand has had it's reserves looted by the current and previous governments, Nigeria did not save for a rainy day and 99% of the Nigerian leaders cannot produce their WAEC certificate so how do we expect them to know what they are doing?

We don't need to be managed like an animal...what we need firstly, is orientation, re-orientation and again orientation...thats the job of the NOA!!! Then we cross the river when we get to it.

nice analysis Sir...in a country where rulers believed, this pandemic is an opportunity to steal, embezzle and show absolute oppressive powers.
