AbuuUthaymeen:
A good thread.

To make the points more compact, I will add that for success, you should know: success never comes through material wealth, but can be achieved through it. Success is that thing that gives you fulfilment and happiness.

To never remain poor, you should know that: wealth follows value. If you will be wealthy then you have to help society get something it needs at scale and you will be rewarded bountifully.

I agree to your submission, it's a total yes.

9.) Keeping multiple girlfriends when you have not fully stabilised financially.

10.) Dating an entitled lady who believes in spending your money without helping you grow financially

11.) Dating a broke lady who believes it is men's responsibility to take care of a woman's needs from panties to bra.

12.) Relying fully on your job and refusing to start a side hustle, especially if you live in an unstable economy like Nigeria

Now this is what I'm talking about! Amazing points...

Africans with stupid mentality some people will just sit and start writing rubbish thinking they are making sense .you can't compare a developed country with a developing country.
I will start with your topic .it is false
We are all destined to either be rich or poor
If you like don't sleep work from morning to night if you are destined to be poor you won't exceed the limit .the struggle still goes on life should be flexible not rigid we need to relax our mind and not be troubled every time
That is why we pray to God for small work big money.

Gambling .life is all about gambling we have to be a good risk taker and a decision maker
If you don't take risk you can't succeed in life and business
Forex is a good one
Mtn who we become a million is a gambling game
Beta naija is some ones business
Babijebu has serve as source of capital to some people

Meeting friend .
Who do you qualify as a bad friend is it a born again that pretend to be good person and behind they are the bad person.

Watching of television.
It bring exposure make you relevant invterms of information
Even ikedc won't give you power for 5 hours
It is a form of relaxation to some people and help to promote good healthy life
High blood pressure.
To sum up
The most successful people are involved in all you have listed above
It is better you are bad than to be pretending to be good .

I think I'll look at it these way : meeting mans basic needs (I stand to be corrected)
1. Food:catering, booker,raw food materials,food delivery,snacks,pastries etc.
2. Shelter: selling building materials, tilling, plumbing, roofing ,engineering, land surveying, electrical, estate & housing, interior decoration,3d designing, painting, hiring out materials used also such as laders, scaffold etc
3. Clothing: selling of bale(for starters),selling traditional clothing materials ,importation of shoes, fabrics, tailoring, fashion designing , modeling, artificial arts, etc
These are the ones I could think of presently, but in most cases in starting up any of these you have to consider some factors such as the environment, social norms, the purchasing power and the demand of the people.
Then another thing to note is that most of these skills require some formal type of training or some kind of proffesional study in either tertiary instutions or technical institutions either ways its good to start some thing for yourself I know there are other industries out there that are waiting to be tapped from such as mining , exportation, agricultural food production, transportation be it land air or sea.
But these at the major ones that are not far fetched, one could start at any level he or wishes to but remember to start small and watch for the businesses prospect in the area.
These and many more I would love to mention and for now all I wish is that, our economy becomes an economy as that of Chinese whom all they do is to produce, Nigeria is a productive state.

Character they say is the beauty of a woman and money is the beauty of a man that's why every man desires success and a luxurious lifestyle.

Moreover, few are willing to go through the right part of success in order to achieve it. There are certain things men do in their daily life activities that hinders their opportunity to success. They may see it as a way out of poverty, but woefully, it's the gateway to the throne of poverty.

There are many habits that can keep a man in the circle of poverty. Check them out below.

1. Gambling.

There is no such thing as getting rich quick. Financial success takes time, takes initiative, and requires relentless effort to achieve.

People who engage in gambling are deluded into thinking there is a shortcut to success. A lot of self-made millionaires today didn’t pursue any get-rich quick schemes. Instead, they make a habit of pursuing their dreams and their goals one after the other.

A lot of Nigerian youths believe so much in gambling that they made it a job. They have the believe that a single one hundred naira note can fetch them fifteen million naira. How long do intend on spending before you achieve that goal. Every known successful man today never earned their wealth from gambling.

2. Drinking Too Much Alcohol.

While the occasional glass of wine or beer is fine, drinking too much could reduce your chances to financial success. Do you know drinking too much could affect your memory and ability to think clearly ?. If you can't think and remember things clearly, how do you intend to make a plan for your financial freedom ?.

I'm not saying alcohol is evil but there is a limit to everything in life including the same alcohol. Some men believe it's never okay till they feel drunk. Only a poor man with a poor mentality thinks like that. 1-2 bottles of beer or even 2 glasses of wine is very much okay for a man with a goal in life. It doesn't mean you have to start drinking two glasses everyday. There are times when things are required in life. Say no to excessive intake of alcohol for your financial freedom.

3. Your Type Of Friends.

A wise man once said, Show me your friends and I will tell you who you are. Those words are absolutely true. Who you hang out with matters more than you may think.

Many rich people today changed their friends the day they decided to make wealth. Make a habit of associating with other success-minded individuals like you.

If you sorround yourself with drunkards and smokers, even if you don't drink or smoke, definitely one day you will see yourself doing it.

You are only going to succeed in life if you surround yourself with the right type of people.

4. Spending Too Much Time Infront Of The TV.

In a success study, it is revealed that 80% of poor people today spend more than five hours Infront of their television screen daily. Complete precious five hours.

Have you ever wondered why the most expensive cars and properties are not putting their advertisements on TV ?. The answer is simple, the people who buy and patronise it doesn't spend time on television so probably they can't see it.

The rich or success-minded people would rather be educated than entertained. They replace TV time with reading, thinking, exercising, or any other form of self education.

I'm not saying watching TV is something not important, but spending too much time on it. Spend more time in planning your map to success instead of watching people who followed their path to success.

5. Thinking Negatively.

Long-term success is only possible when you have a positive mental outlook to it. You can never be successful if you always imagine yourself poor. If you don't believe in yourself, why trying ?. You always have the thoughts of I cannot make it, that's one of the reasons you have not made it to success.

The problem for most people is that they’re completely unaware of their thoughts, positive or negative. If you stop to listen to your thoughts, to be aware of them, you would find most of them are negative. But you only realize you are having these negative thoughts when you force yourself to be aware of them. Awareness is the key.

Take your mind of negative thoughts. Replace them with positiveness. They say a believer is an achiever. Believe in yourself.

6. Doing A Job You Don't Love.

Toiling away at a job you hate will not only leave you stressed out and dissatisfied with life, it could affect your chances at getting rich because you don't appreciate the outcome.

The wealthiest, most successful people pursue their passions, you should consider doing the same thing in your working days in life. Do what you have passion for, work is fun. Passion defeats education, intelligence, skills, and any other advantage those who lack passion might have in life.

Passion makes work fun. Passion gives you the energy, persistence, and focus needed to overcome failures, mistakes, and rejection. It infuses you with a fanatical tenacity that makes it possible to overcome obstacles and pitfalls that block your path.

7. Spending too much.

Spending more than you make is the fastest and surest road to financial breakdown.

You can't be earning a salary of 50 thousand naira and be driving a car that requires maintenance of 15 thousand naira monthly, it leaves you with 35 thousand naira salary. You have groceries and rent to pay the same month with other little things to do with money. What happened to saving ?, What you save and plan for is very important even before the salary comes.

People who spend too much faces a lot of challenges, they have no money for retirement, for their kids’ college, or for pursuing opportunities that present themselves. Spending more than you earn and putting saving on your back creates long-term poverty, with no hope of escape.

8. Ignoring customers feedback.

At the end of the day, you might already have a business established, ignoring customers feedback on your products and services pulls your business down faster than the change in currency.

Fear of criticism is the reason we do not seek feedback from others. You have more chances of improvement if you listen to your customers feedback.

Feedback is essential to learning what is working and what isn’t working. Feedback helps you understand if you are on the right track. Seeking criticism, good or bad, is a crucial element for learning and growth.

Feedback provides you with the information you will need in order to succeed in future and make improvements.

That will be all for now. I hope this helped and educated you on some of the things you need to stop doing in life if you want to achieve success.

See you at the top !

So much on point, well done! I hope we all learn from this.

When i see People talk shit about Gambling ( especially football betting not virtual betting pls) i laugh because their ignorance is nauseating...

gambling addiction is a problem no doubt, and if u are into virtual betting, then u are heading for doom.. .. also all those hoping to win 10million with 100naira, well its probably not gonna happen in ur lifetime.... but the real football stakers are cashing out everyday....

forget about predicting correct score and Draws

the 3 rules of football betting are (research) (High stakes) and( not more than 5odds per stake)

i ve been into football betting since 2009 as a final year student in imsu, using ladbrokes.com. because back then there was no betting company in naija.. and if i give u my full cashout from 2009 till date, u will marvel

i am an enterprenuer, i run my own business, but i can beat my chest and tell u OP that the money i make from football betting in a week, with my laptop right there at the office, makes the entire money i make from my business feel like a joke( and believe me, my business is actually doing fine by all standards)

u guys dont even realize that forex trade is pure gambling..if forex trade had zero risk, there will no one begging u to come and learn forex trade for as low as 10k because that ur forex teacher would be a millionaire already..
the risk in forex is even higher than football betting..

pls nobody should send me any pm.. i am not a betting company agent or marketer. i just wanted to use this medium to set things straight..

naija factor is always there.. especially when ure in an office where people bribe to get things done.. that's d fastest way to success here... I've seen people reject promotion just to remain in juicy offices where bribes and tips sure..

They may be having their way now, but one day, the day of reckoning will come for them... every day for the thief, one day for the owner. They will be exposed, disgraced out of office and perhaps, even be prosecuted. Ill-gotten riches never last or give peace.

We have at least 4 of such people working for me and some clients of mine who will lose their jobs at the end of this lockdown as a result of the kind of corrupt practices you have mentioned. God help them if they have no savings that will sustain them after the sack.
