I have followed this interesting thread! I have HND accounting, B.ed Economics. I want to go for masters by next yr. What is ur advice: Economics or Accountancy?

Depends on what you want to do. I know nothing about accounting, but as far as I have heard, professional accounting certifications are way better than MSc accounting. If those saying this are correct, then I suggest you go for MSc econs and complete an accounting certification a la ICAN ACCA CPA, if you're still interested in accounting.

Eventually, it depends on what you want to do in the long run. If becoming a university prof is your long term goal, then just focus all your energy on MSc econs and then PhD econs. Otherwise my initial thoughts (in the first paragrah) should be helpful.
