What I Saw On Facebook Recently But I Don't Know How True It Is. by ladensmith(m): 4:28am On May 03, 2020
Covid-19 in Nigeria.
Over the weekend, Friday to be precise.
My neighbor's son sustained a head injury while playing with his fellow kids and was rushed to the general hospital in my area here.
The little boy wasn't sick o.
Just a head injury that happened in my presence while we were outside discussing.
On Sunday, I went to check on the boy to see how he was doing, he was already playing with other kids though his head is still bandaged.
I started talking with his mom and she told me what now seems to be the new trend as regards Covid-19 in Nigeria.
She showed me the receipt issued to her by the hospital.
It was marked Covid-19, case 353.
I was surprised to see that.
She said when she saw the receipt, she asked the nurse what was the meaning of that?
That her son isn't a Covid-19 patient.
The nurse told her not to worry, that it means nothing.
That she was only doing what was required of her.
So she shouldn't worry.
According to the woman, she was still worried seeing that on her receipt but the nurse further reassured her and told her that if she doesn't do that, she could be issued a query. Wow!
What this means is that, according the receipt, the boy is case 353 treated and discharged.
Can you imagine that?!
That is possibly the new trend now at government hospitals.
Once you're sick and visits a government hospital, you're a Covid-19 patient.
If she hadn't shown me that receipt, I wouldn't have believed what she told me yesterday.
And you keep wondering why we can't see common pictures of patients in the isolation centers. Common pictures o.
All we see everyday are numbers upon numbers.
Let me leave it here for now.

While I can see the receipt and I also know your story is genuine, I'll like to know if random hospitals have been given the authorization to treat covid19 cases. If not, why would they write that on the receipt?

Very curious.

It’s the same reason why the figures are increasing everyday,if this lockdown in Lagos gets lifted on Monday, they will use that same excuse to increase the figures more and we will be forced to go on indefinite lockdown, everything is scam in Nigeria ,why won’t such country turn all youths to scammers when the leaders are doing great wonders with scam ..

Anyone who believes dis crap is daft.. Why will a hospital write covid 19 case on a prescription form? For those who dont know dat form is simply where doctors or d attending physician writes what drugs d patient should buy or obtain from d pharmacy.. Dis is neither a hospital bill nor a doctors report.. D same morons who believe 5G is responsible for d virus are d same one who will believe his about any story made up to downplay d seriousness of d virus

Fear God

Drug prescription reciept don turn receipt..

Even if one is admitted in general hospital they don't issue u a receipt..

What u get is a discharge note after it has been satisfied you don't owe the following departments

Admission

Kitchen

Pharmacy

Laboratory

Blood bank

Nurses relief package ..

You are a very intelligent fellow aswear, Nigeria and Africa needs more of your kind.i really really admire you for this your post.A lot of time I wonder where some people's sense of reasoning goes immediately they see things on the internet, how a lot of people who call themselves university graduates are often quick to believe trash when they see it on the internet without first of all reasoning with their God given brain forgetting that clout chasing is now the order of the day for many people and so many people are ready to go to any extent for clout. That picture there is a case of someone simply being wicked all in a bid to trend cos he or she is downplaying the severity and seriousness of this virus in the minds of many Nigerians who believe everything in the internet.Yes our government is corrupt but we all should know that the virus is real and that we are fighting a biological war that the enemy(the virus) fears nobody whether you are ignorant or not. Some itiboribos and mischief makers will take this picture and start circulating it on WhatsApp with one yeye voicenote that will sound convincing and their fellow itiboribos will swallow it verbatim without using their sense thereby living carelessly believing that the virus isn't in Nigeria and the virus will continue to spread.

Stay safe people.
Don't be mischievous.
The virus is real.
