When they hear palliatives being offered by individuals in the SE, their blood pressure rises and they type away in anger.

Public giveaway is nothing but scam to reasonable people who understands the concept of generosity and helping.

There's always a hidden motive behind anyone who does giveaway publicly. Quote me anywhere.

It's either for clout, to buy love, to buy loyalty, to gain favors from some persons within or a business strategy.

Behind everyone doing giveaway, there's this a friend on his/her contact list who's desperately in need of help. There's this family member, either from the mother's side or father's side who's in need and perishing looking for help.

But NO! They'll not help those needy family members, but will prefer to come to the public, chase clout with the less privileged and snap pictures or go to social media, chase clout, buy fake love to look generous.

Whatever is it, this woman experienced. I don't care, because if everyone should focus on their family members, maternal cousins and paternal siblings, there won't be needy people in the public for these clout chasers to use.

People should say no to fake public accolades from strangers who truly doesn't give a fvck about their existence and and focus on people in their family tree and people around them. They'll appreciate the more.
To you, you made a point, but you actually made no point... . .. . .. . .. Quick one, who's then going to help the poor if you want it this way?

AJ sent lots of food - rice, beans, semolina - to Fela Shrine to be shared around few days ago. From my estimation the rice should be 10kg, beans 10kg and 2 sachets of semolina 1kg which should be around #1500, #1000 and #800 respectively in open market.

To my astonishment, most of the recipients sold the 3-combo pack #500 to a man parked few metres away.

Some companies and individuals have been sharing stuffs to alleviate people's suffering but all ends up in fights, disruption of the process and wastage of the items.

G...n lotto gave 100 bags of rice and other foodstuffs to a community, some elders connived to share only 50 bags keeping the remaining to themselves; the youths of the area have been at loggerheads with the elders and food left undistributed for over 2wks now.
Welcome to the shit hole

The theory here is, if everyone is giving their family, there would be no one for people like this woman to use for clout.

What's, woman to use for clout, about?

So you guys have all of sudden become glorified psychics, hmm? You actually can read people's mind. You can see their thought and know the reason why they go out of their ways, comfort zones, peace and traquility of their homes to face and feed "sharks" hmm?

Not everyone is able to give their family. Some families dont have anyone in their families to fend for themselves talkless capable of giving to their families, relations or relatives.

pocohantas:
I like to think the needy in our circle would never get exhausted,
so they can be lifetime beneficiaries of our individual giveaways.
"You will always have the poor among you..."

"You will always have the poor with you
and can help them whenever you want....

pocohantas:
Lol. Have you encountered them? grin
I wonder where their relatives are.
MuttleyLaff:
Of course, everyone takes care of their families first before drifting out to others, only an exhibitionist or pretentious person with false attitude(s) wouldnt

Who if/when in Naija hasnt encountered them?. Of course, I've had unsavoury memories and it's no lol matter

I recall encountering them at MMIA, one tout trolley handler without giving us change back, abandoned his trolley with us disappeared into thin air, whilst we weren't looking, with our ₦500 or was it ₦1000 banknote sef. Another encounter was, at Lagos Island, actually right inside Oluwole car park, whilst trying to find a place to park and then let my missus and her sister get out to walk the rest to Balogun Market for getting a couple of Brazillian hair etcetera. They buy in boxes, stock up and share among themselves as in meaning with other sisters
pocohantas:
They are everywhere, especially for Lagos. I know people that will say they can never go to 85% of the mainland, lol.

Why the question in the first place?
If you know they are everywhere, especially for Lagos, why ask me if I have encountered them then?
Or was it a rhetorical question ni, lol?

What they did was barbaric and inexcusable. Nigerians have this problem of fighting over everything and that's a big minus.

I know it's a tough time for a lot of people but resorting to that kind of madness was extreme.

Look for someone in your family tree. If everyone in your family don belle full, walk downstairs to your gateman and drivers and bless their lives

Honestly we were left destruct and heart broken when we tried to do our recent give away. We packaged them for the elderly and they quickly changed it for us. By the time we were through we left with our tails between our legs as they almost damaged our car.

Simply means if you are stranded in that part of town and seek shelter, you would be robbed of all your belongings if they notice wealth on you. Many of them would be in church and mosques 'worshipping' after these atrocious act. Pathetic!

Sincerely, I don't subscribe to it anymore.

I've always been a fan of giveaways. But with what I've seen this period, both offline and online, I don't think it's worth the stress

I know a man where I used to live before. He takes note of families that are families that are financially handicapped, and then he goes to give them individually. That way, he won't have to encounter a wicked crowd

Unless you plan to organize it somehow, or plan for security, it's most likely going to end up hurting your emotions

The above video clip is of Professor Ama Ata Aidoo, former Ghana Minister of Education under the Jerry Rawlings administration, watch if you want to, starting at the 0.37 minute mark, and listen to what she had to say about the blame game and foreign aid. She said something poignant, in the line of "We cant blame others for our difficult, unpleasant, or embarrassing situation but ourselves"

Interviewer:
Well if this is your impression, do you think that you can ever forgive us?

Professor Ama Ata Aidoo:
It is not a question of forgiveness. I have nothing against you. My point is that you did and you are doing for your survival, what is necessary. We can't blame you for that. The fact that we are not. We didn't do enough for our own survival and we are still not doing enough for yourself, that is not your problem. You know even though, the dirt, even everybody that God has created has a sense of survivor. You know and until we. If we don't develop it, we can't blame white people. You came here because you needed these things. You took gunpowder from the Chinese. You needed them to shoot people.

Interviewer:
Do you consider aids as a new form of colonisation?

Professor Ama Ata Aidoo:
OF COURSE (then smiling and swinging in her chair with a broader smile)

Interviewer:
Why?

Professor Ama Ata Aidoo:
Why? (disappeared smile but now shocked and not pleased being asked why)

For most Nigerians[If not all], fake accolades from strangers seems important to them than the betterment of their relatives.
Its because relatives never cared if they were dying or alive , in the early days of their struggles . No relatives cared. Now they are comfortable with enough to give away. Trust me they won't help any relative .

Let the relative have a taste of what they went through years back

Its called karma.

They rather dash and feed strangers, cos strangers were the only ones who assisted them to get to their glory.
Such is life

Sorry to butt in here but there seems to be something wrong here .
It may be that you are even "better off" than them in your unemployment stage for them not to bother cos you might have money saved up or what kinda pples will be waiting for you to come and beg them before they offer you the little they can?
Or do you remain aloof and not close to them?
I'm not aloof in anyway with my people bro,i'm only refering to one or two people who should knw better. An example is an elder bro who is very rich today. Many yrs ago when he was in my shoes,i visited him and found out he was using a borrowed labtop to work, without thinking i gave him my brand new HP labtop i bought with my life savings then to use mind you i did not wait for him to ask. I hv my own pride bro and i will be back on my own feet soon.
Thanks for stoping by.

She is an unapologetic socialist and anti-imperialist.

You are even lucky I joined because I hardly comment on pages I dont feature on from word go ground zero, to give and take, second page, lol. The only reason I scrapped that, was reading yours and dominique's input, which were intriguing so why I jumped in, lol.

Tbh, I don't take too kindly to market places with its too many speculators lol. When I get too late to a party like yours here, when it's already on or past page two, I often just pedestrianise and not participate lol.

And she video the looters smiley why can't she take it to the CDA, the chairman will then call the people in the community to collect their palliative.
Maybe she opened her door for people to come and pick their palliative themselves and they started rushing, that makes you vulnerable

That driver is an amateur though. Why the Bleep was he waiting to close door first before starting car? Car that he should have started and accelerated immediately and all the thieves would go dropping off one by one. Who break head/leg go take am as him cross... But to be honest, sometimes I don't pity these so called poor people because the thing inside of them can't be explained. These ones will do worse if given the opportunity.
