First stanza:
We vrẹn emotọ eje

Nyo use rẹ Inajiria

Rẹ a vwọ ga orho rẹ avwanre

Vwẹ ẹguọnọ vẹ ogagan vẹ uyota

Owian rẹ egba rẹ avwanre wianre

Che se ghwru kufia rẹ

Rẹ a vwọ ga vwẹ ẹwẹn vẹ ẹgba

Otọ rẹ ọ vọnre vẹ ofuvwegbe

Ufuoma vẹ okugbe.

English lyrics

Stanza 1:

Arise, O compatriots
Nigeria's call obey
To serve our fatherland
With love and strength and faith
The labour of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom
Peace and unity.

Ọghẹnẹ rẹ ọ ma emueje

Dje idjerhe vwọ kẹ avwanre

Sun inori rẹ avwanre phiọn

Jẹ ighene rẹ avwanre uyota

Re rho vwẹ ẹguọnọ vẹ evuẹfuọn

Yere akpọ rẹ uyota

Akpọ rode vwo te obọ

Rẹ a vwọ bọn ẹkuọtọ

Rẹ ufuoma vẹ orugba de suẹn.



English Lyrics

Oh God of creation, direct our noble cause
Guide our leaders right
Help our youth the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.

Mi ve phiyọ kẹ Inajiria ẹkuotọ mẹ

Ne me dia ohwo rẹ uyota, dẹndẹn vẹ ọvwata

Ne me reyọ ẹgba mẹ ejobi vwọ ga Inajiria

Ne me họnren ke okugbe royen

Me je yọnre ọghọ vẹ uririn royen
Ọghẹnẹ gbe chavwuko.

The Nigeria National Pledge in English:
I pledge to Nigeria my country
To be faithful, loyal and honest
To serve Nigeria with all my strength
To defend her unity
And uphold her honor and glory
So help me God.
