Men of God are the ones to pay workers abi

They gave the people false hope, take 10% of their income and even help brought corrupt politicians to power.

Show me one doctor that have 1 private jet in Nigeria let me show you a pastor that have 4 private jet in Nigeria.

The work our health workers has been doing since when this covid 19 has started has been a death sentence work. So I expect FG to pay this people very well more than does useless people sitting down under AC and collect billions..

Do feel this strike is actually not the best currently. This health sector has head and due protocol need to be observe.
They need to ask for the listening ears of the Governor and other state stakeholders.

Why will your govt be paying useless politicians who haven't done anything useful over N2m monthly hazard allowance, and then pay doctors who are risking their lives are being paid N5000 monthly hazard allowance?

The answer is the reason why they are going on strike.

Since they value politicians more than doctors in this country, let the politicians go and treat the infected patients
Hahaha. Na that one dey pain you? You have deviated from my point. What makes you think you will be productive if they pay you what they are paying the senators?
Afterall even Joshua Dariye when he was a senator complained that the money they were paying them is not enough.

America and Canada is a case study.

They increased the package for health workers and those people are functional.

Infact, Canadian doctors had to tell the Canadianan government some time back not to increase their salaries as they are earning more than enough (you can use Google to find out)

America recently requested for Nigerian doctors who want to participate in assisting the country during this pandemic.. I don't need to narrate how the turn out was.

But here in Nigeria where the owe workers salary and give them peanut to go risk their lives and you expect a positive result? This is sheer stupidity!!

This is the exact same thing going on in the army and their fight against terrorists.

Stop supporting the useless govt that failed to set their priorities right

I knw that our health sector is terrible, this is not Gov. Dapo's fault, part of the problems he inherited but I knw the gov is a smart he will sort it out immediately because this is a very wrong timing so we cant afford such at the moment.

If he is smart at all, why did he let it get to this point of going on strike

I am not supporting anyone here. I am only trying to dispel a notion here that increased pay automatically means increased productivity. The US and Canada you quoted, the doctors dont work hard because they get paid plenty. They get paid plenty because they work so hard . In the UK where doctors complain of long hours and poor pay, I never heard of a doctor abandoning patients or act indifferent the way you people do. Even Niggerian doctors who go there fall in line because no one has time for bullshit. Over here you are not doing the work and you want to be given plenty money. This is the same crap we see in every sector ( not just health). Everybody wants to be paid for doing nothing that's why the country is the way it is.

One of the problems we have in Nigeria is the fact that people deliberately ignore the truth.
Quite a number are also too lazy to find out the facts.
Isn't it obvious to all that the government has failed woefully.
What percentage of the 2020 budget was allocated to health.
For those that have a clue about the health system in Nigeria, you will realize that health workers have been our unsung heroes for a long time.
The government whether federal/state or local has never been serious about healthcare.
When you ignore people and refuse to do the needful, they take the only option they have. We are first human beings.
The strike is a warning strike.
Services to covid 19 patients not affected for now.
They are not callous.
They also have a right to their entitlement.
We all know that the only language our government understand is STRIKE

Govt should get their names withdraw their licence and get them sacked if you cant show empathy during this period when you are needed you have no right practising. you are riding on this chaos to improve your standard of living instead of focusing your skills to heal the vulnerable. its their type that when a patient visits the hospital if they dont have money they close their wards and leave them to die. sack the whole lot of them

the government can't withdraw their licences since they never gave them, any withdrawal can only be done by the medical and dental council, the worst the govt can do is sack them

very useless. infact if i become president ill do the following for doctors
1. no doctor below 50 years will marry ,they need to concentrate on the job.
2. they will not paid. they are on humanitarian service.
3. they must live within the hospital, no going out.
4 they must grow their own food, just like soldiers do in North Korea
5. they must work till they drop dead no room for retirement...

Asides politicians, who else has the government treated right in this country?
These people lack what it takes to protect them at work and secure their future and you want them to stay mute.
You simply don't have an idea of what the system is like.

This people are very wicked.
Other doctors in Europe and Arab nations are doing charity work, Nigeria doctors are demanding for more, instead of volunteering it to the poor.

Why are we like this?

U are a very wicked person for saying this.
So a doctor /health worker that risks his /her life daily to go to work and face the deadly pandemic without adequate PPEs deserves to be owed /paid peanuts while ur useless politicians take 2million Naija for sitting allowance.Ur comparing Nigerian healthcare with those in Europe where they are paid heavily with large incentives especially during this period. And u want ur Naija doctors that are family men/women to do charity work for a country that barely pays the basic salaries let alone incentives.Ur a very wicked person.

Insightful, isn't it?

Maybe you'll start by telling the readers here what you do? I mean what is your job or preoccupation?

The typical Nigerian government don't recognize the important of public health

Let's be logical here. How will doctors go on strike during this critical period? Did the problems start today? I won't question their right to agitate for their entitlements but we should all question the timing of this. It doesn't make any sense. Why didn't they go on strike all these while? They will lose the sympathy of some people with this move.
Re: Ogun Doctors Begin Strike Today Over Welfare Package by crafteeworld: 9:22am On May 08, 2020
Be logical bro... The best time to get what you want/deserve from anyone is when you're needed the most. I must applaud the doctors for the timing of this move.
We must learn to place priority of the most important things in life.
