The idea of sending back almajiri to their home states is one of the daftest move ever.

Every state has their fair share of almajiris residents and at the end of the day they will only end up sending or spreading the plague, while all the states will still have almajiris in them.

Take Kaduna for example, they are one of the first northern state to have it. Any attempt at sending back asymptomatic carriers is simply going to spread the virus to wherever the carriers, in this case almajiris, go to.

These guys should know better than this.

northern leaders have always been clueless and lack logical reasoning, reason why the region is backwards and a burden to the rest Nigeria.

I tell you. It is like Nigerian govt welcoming back potential covid victim from UK when they were having it and we weren't yet.

You are right, each state in the core North has its share of Almajaris. So all Almajaris should go back to their mothers and fathers.

There is nothing bad in relocating destitute back to their community of origin but in a situation where we are trying to check the spread of a contagious plague, the worst time to do that is when we aren't sure if the almajiris already have the plaque. It will only hasten then spread within the new state line isolation borders.

In Nigeria where we cannot control people praying on public road is where you want to regulate private parts. That's an impossible task as it stands.

I support them going back but not with viral load of Coronavirus in their body. What is now the use of lockdown if they send some positive and homeless people to new areas with no covid trace. It would have been best they stay where they are. Remember that Ondo or Ekiti man who refused his returning son from Lagos entrance? That's the whole idea here and not the preparation of Nigeria's breakup.

and will leaving the almajiri on the street stop the plague from spreading?? it wont.. if not for this current plague.. the government wont even see any reason for relocating almajiri's off the streets.. so I think this covid 19 is like a two edged sword.. it has both good and bad side.. now the government are begging to see why they need to properly equip our hospitals and take the beggars off the streets

My biggest concern is that this whole relocation exercise is a big charade because it will all be back to status quo after COVID-19 is defeated. undecided Those kids would be released back to the streets to continue their begging.

It won't but greatly reduce it. Almajiris can be relocated anytime but right now the cost is so high.

I strongly disagree.. almajiri cannot be relocated anytime.. this is the right time to do it.. there is now a reason to do it.. imagine someone like wike, or sanwo olu saying he wants to relocate almajiri beggars back home.. do you think this will happen without northern forums seeing it as discrimination??

Did fashola wait for Ebola before sending eastern destitutes back home. It is like you hate the north.

Let them go back to their respective state. This covid 19 means you are on your own. To your tent on Israel. If you know your load, carry it yourself and stop being a burden on other people.

I dont hate the north.. have seeing me saying anything bad about the north?? I'm saying send the homeless kid begging on the streets back home.. and this is the time to do it? how is the government suppose to cater for the children on the streets?? why should a regions problem be everyone's problem? If this isnt done.. irresponsible parents wont see any reason for proper upbringing of a child.. this is the time to do it... it's not as if when they're sent back to their states of origin and left to roam the streets.. their state will cater for the cost of taking care of them till this pandemic Is no longer a treat .. and the state government will as well see reason why they should educate and prosecute irresponsible parents,.. to hell with political correctness or religious shit.. this is what every state should be doing at this time.. I went to garage this morning in my area.. I could still see homeless beggars in the street... if they're already infected are they not ignorantly spreading the virus.. this is not a matter for debate

China did it. there are several ways to curtail population growth through policies and programs. mass literacy and reorientation to start with.

You have no point as it stands. Fashola did it and any other governor can. Sending them back now is just legendary stupidity in perfection.
