solmusdesigns:You’re too negative. This same kit has helped other countries like South Korea. There could be mistake but it is still better than testing a few people each day. You can’t be 100% sure that the current method has not misdiagnosed people. Testing should be from home to home sef 1 Like |

Mrs Omotola want to make her own billions out of this coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria, just as Burutai and co are cashing out billions from Boko Haram terrorist menace in the north. This coronavirus will really enrich many Nigerians, including those at the Presidential Task Force, to an average Nigerian, every societal problem is an opportunity to steal and become rich |

We need to introduce this as an add-on to our treatment plan and then as time goes on we'll determine if it is necessary to keep it or discard it |

Everyone assumes this is a rapid antibody test whereas the article clearly says its a rapid ANTIGEN test - - world of difference between both. Rapid antibody tests have been disappointingly inconsistent which is why NCDC has been averse to their use, but rapid antigen tests are a new territory altogether and a handful of research labs are working to develop these rapid tests. PS: That said, the company's claim that these tests are currently being used in the UK raises suspicions about their motives, because the said tests are definitely not currently being used in the UK. The UK still offers only the good old swabs for PCR, so take this news with a pinch of salt 1 Like |

20 minutes to test for a virus like Covid19 is a recipe for disaster, as there could be many false negatives or false positives. Average testing time should be around 5 hours.. |

rawtouch: It's amazing how tribalism has derailed our focus as Nigerian youths. The politicians know that we are too busy arguing over stupid things than to fight for our future. Even after the suffering most Nigerians are passing through during covid19, they know they'll still manipulate us make us fight over and vote for APC and PDP. Why? We are too busy thinking in the wrong direction and channelling our youthful strength into unproductive ventures like this your statement. 1 Like |

The government should allow private pharmaceutical companies to import these test kits and sell to Nigerians that can afford to buy, you will see that the test kits will be everywhere and this will help stop the spread of this covid 19 virus. T |

[ Mynd44:Yes Boss. Conditional probability involving false positives and false negatives can be counterintuitive. If 1% of 1000 people (10 people) has the virus and the test has a false positive of 10% and correct accuracy of 90%. It means that when 1000 people does the test, the test kit will detect the virus in exactly 9 of the 10 people who has the virus, yielding 1 false negative, but it will also yield a positive result in 99 of the remaining 990 people who do not have the virus, bringing the total to 108 positives instead of 10. But It's not a huge problem if more than one rapid test kit is used on each individual before a final assertion is made. At least, they don't have to wait too long for result. And also, I think that's better than testing less than 0.001% of the entire populace since the virus started and leaving citizens who would have tested positive roaming on the streets and infecting others |
