timbros:So you mean google is lying also.... ![]() The main aim of Zonal marking is to kill all the threat from each area of the field,... its not SOCIAL DISTANCING like you are thinking. If a striker enters a zone belonging to Zouma and score,... Zouma is at fault for the goal...

airmark:This is Maguire goal against Chelsea.... Help me ask him, if Rudiger is to be blame for the goal
|
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 10:30am On May 10, 2020 |
Expert17:Yes true. But it doesn't mean Zouma lose any marker. And stop shouting google Google Google. I can go to that very page in your screengrab, edit it to my taste and paste it here. |

timbros:So i edited this ![]() Maybe the word LOOSE is to big............... When a player enter your zone and win the ball,( that means you loose the ball) and also score(you are @ fault)
|
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 10:37am On May 10, 2020 |
And for the sake of emphasis, this is your comment that brought about all this argument. Expert17:Did you make this comment having in mind a player who invades Rudiger's zone? A player he is suppose to mark here simply means a player he is assigned to man mark. |

| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Expert17: 10:48am On May 10, 2020 |
timbros:So you expect Maguire to write admission exam before entering Rudiger zone... Once a player enter your zone, .. Even if, it's 1 sec bfor the ball reach your zone....you are suppose to mark him. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by airmark(m): 10:51am On May 10, 2020 |
Expert17:Timbros doesn't know in such corner kicks they apply man-oriented zonal marking. I won't blame him much, he never played pro football. My main issue with him and others like him is, they remain stubborn, defending rubbish. |

Ibime:not just stupid, very stupid. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Greatihex(m): 10:57am On May 10, 2020 |
Ibime:that ball did not come with much speed like a kdb cross, so Ferdinand had enough time even after the cross left to challenge and unsettle Messi, at least. Since Messi is not very good in heading, he would have, at least, caused Messi to, maybe, head wide or over the bar. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Swissh: 11:02am On May 10, 2020 |
Greatihex:Oga it was a perfect cross to Messi. Their is nothing Ferdinand can do at that instance. Absolutely nothing. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 11:08am On May 10, 2020 |
Expert17, excuse my pedantry. The correct spelling is lose your marker not loose your marker. Below is how you apply them. Why did Messi lose Ferdinand The wheel nut has come loose |

| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 11:11am On May 10, 2020 |
Expert17:So you have to identify a player in your zone, mark him and win the ball in one sec? |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Expert17: 11:13am On May 10, 2020 |
timbros:Zonal- marking is not easy. If you are well positioned in your Zone, you wont find it difficult. Terry, Cahill and Ivanovic wont find it difficult to zone-mark |

| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 11:15am On May 10, 2020 |
Expert17:That's not the answer to my question ![]() Can you use one second to identify a player moving into your zone, mark and win the ball off him? |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Expert17: 11:23am On May 10, 2020 |
timbros:Yes, you can defend the ball within that time. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by eph12(m): 11:28am On May 10, 2020 |
My understanding of zonal marking, you mark the ball. Attack the ball if it gets to your zone. Man marking, your focus is more on the player you're marking. I may be wrong sha |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Greatihex(m): 11:41am On May 10, 2020 |
Swissh:I did not play football professionally. I have not been following football for 100 years like you guys. But, if you have been following football for a long time and still think that there is nothing Ferdinand would have done there, then I can't help you. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 11:44am On May 10, 2020 |
Expert17:OK. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 11:45am On May 10, 2020 |
eph12:Simple. You can only lose your man while man marking. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Swissh: 11:52am On May 10, 2020 |
Greatihex:Immediately the ball was in the air Ferdinand was already 3 to 4 yards away from Messi who was in acres of space. There was absolutely nothing he could do at that moment from stopping a perfect cross getting to Messi. No amount of shalayes would change that. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Godx: 12:00pm On May 10, 2020 |
timbros:I agree with you here. Ability to head the ball should be a prerequisite for any Centre back especially at the highest level. |

| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by airmark(m): 12:22pm On May 10, 2020 |
Greatihex:One doesn't even need to play pro before one uses sense to grab it when explained. 'Look over your shoulder', is what coaches always ask cbs, when they are strangely free in the box, when the opponents are with the ball in the flanks. Ferdinand was mumu for that goal. They call it loss of concentration. |
