Have You Ever Quit A Job Without Giving Notice? Share Your Reasons. by Nobody: 3:48pm On May 10, 2020
I'm really unhappy with my job, due to:
> Delay of salary up to 15 to 18 days of the next month
> No staff warfare,
> Threatening to sack staff all the time
> No record of tax (clearance ) payment for staff despite 30% of salary for tax.
> High transport fee to work, surulere to island.

but want to quit without given notice to start a new plan business after the corona saga..... if you have done this before, what happened? and how do you feel.

Many private organizations are like that. Mine was a school where I was teaching 3 subjects across js1-ss3. I was so lean, even my street guys could tell. Normal schools close around 3 to 3.30pm, this one close around 4.15 and teachers are to wait an hour extra before leaving. I'll get home tired, sometimes too weak to wake up at d sound of the alarm the next morning. Yet late-coming is minus N500 naira from ur salary. Resumption is 7am. Coming late 3 times attracts a query, incomplete lesson note also attracts query. 3 queries attracts sack. 2 queries attracts N3000 deduction each from your salary i.e N6000

The worst of it was I gained admission for masters and I requested for part time teaching even if the salary is slashed so as to run my masters along side, they said no I either leave the job and face masters or I quit masters and face the job. That was so annoying. I told them verbally that I quit the job. Thank you. After 2 days, the mumu principal still printed a termination letter and sent it to me at home thru a colleague. I wrote him back that it was idiotic to address letter to a person he did not see, but my colleague out of good gesture just smiled and kept the insultive letter I wrote.

you are right my brother, bad jobs kill dream makes one unproductive, imagine collecting salary on the 18 of the next month for no reason just to keep the staff stagnant bcus the owner of the company believes the staff we leave the job if he pays early, so he knew is doing wrong.

most companies cant function thanks to the virus, so its fully understandable that they will have difficulties paying salaries and/or keeping staff, as hard as it may be for you to understand it.

unless you have a better job lined up 110%, you have no business leaving this one... and you should instead understand your employer (late salaries etc), unless they paid late salaries all the time even before covid-19.

One of the elements of poverty is bad job, u see, at my job if you miss the weekly meeting is aday salary deduction, lateness to meeting attract 200 deduction, and the meeting comes every Monday and Thursday... no be small thing.

bro, you have to understand them and the difficult situation they are in... many have difficulties to stay in business so its understandable that they either sack a few staff (or put on temporary leave) to keep the minimum people OR do you believe its best to close shop and sack everybody?!

Yes.. Three years ago, I quit my job in a big company... Won't mention them... Yes I was owed almost 4 months due to the removal of subsidy by buhari regime...
I only wrote and sent a resignation letter to the HR in Lagos even though she advised me to stay put as I'm not part of those to be retrenched, I stopped working same day. My mind was made up.
They didn't pay me the money owed me till date.. I can't say I regret tho.
I'm much better now.

MANY EMPLOYERS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN GREEDY AND WICKED EVEN BEFORE THIS CRISIS, ESPECIALLY PLACES LIKE PRIVATE SCHOOLS AND OTHER MINOR ESTABLISHMENTS. YOU SEE THEM CASHING OUT BIG TIME, BUT WILL ALWAYS SLITHER AROUND WHEN IT COMES TO STAFF PAYMENT.

so let me ask you:
you run your own business, lockdown everywhere, everything is closed and you cant do any business and losing money everyday that there is a lockdown...would you actually stay open and have staff come to work to do nothing, and pay them at the end of the month with money that you are not making?

lets be honest here...

There's nothing classical about robbery.

The worst are the politicians, a governor will owe for months and when you ask him why, he'll look you in the eye and tell you the state doesn't have any money.

i am giving you my opinion, if it aint good enough for you, fair enough.... but it nevertheless stands as my opinion. you ungrateful people will be quick to look down on your employer (the minute he he has problems), instead of being grateful that you even have a job in this harsh economy. you people never put yourself in your bosses shoes, and only see money coming in and think that your salary is what should be more important to pay every end of month....what about rent for the business? what about taxes? what about bills and security guards etc?

since you believe it is so easy to open a biz, keep it afloat and still pay employees in these difficult covid-19 times...then why dont you open your biz and see how you can manage it?
