justiniyke29:Exactly what I wanted to ask. I thought of C 280 or 230 - 2003. Are they good buy? |

justiniyke29: The next time u want to buy a Ford explorer or any other car at all, just make sure it doesn't have engine or gear problems.there is virtually nothing wrong in Ford explorer that has been in use from many years till date. @op.The major reason you would not enjoy a Ford vehicle is if you intend to use lubricants that aren't approved.like using abro or Holt ATF in it's transmission.the next thing u begin to perceive is burnt smell.Let's ask who changed gear twice the kind of transmission fluid used to find out where the problem came from. PS..He had no complain about the engine,ac, electrical or overheating.his explorer transmission obviously had an issue from the onset.how can a very unreliable vehicle make it up to the year 2020? |

nurey: Not special, Nurey; it is typical. The Ford Explorer is one of the VERY worst vehicle (not just SUV) ever made! The ones that marginally escape this reality are the lucky ones, the very few and super rare exceptions, not the general, broad picture 2 Likes |

pautex: Hi Pautex ,trust you're keeping safe ? In case you are yet to find a car worth that amount you're looking for, i have a 2002 Ford Mondeo brought from Cotonou last year August. The engine, transmission ,drive train and factory fitted Air condition are in great shape because i serviced all these components with the recommended fluids (Mobil1 5w-30 and Ford Mecron LV transmission fluid). However, there's a little repaint( minor scratches) work to be done on the fender and bonnet area( 5000 naira), ABS sensor (5000 naira) and front stabilizer linkage (4000 naira) to be replaced though I've not had any issue driving it. It comes with a 2.0ltr Duratec HE Engine , Leather interior seat and foldable side mirrors. All my repairs and servicing were done by a Ford specialist mechanic at Squadron mechanic village at Mangoro opposite Onipetesi estate, Ikeja. Reason for intended sale is because i am broke. If you feel like giving it a try ,WhatsApp me |

Ford explorer is a solid car to own so long as you don't let a mechanic abuse it. The parts are affordable and you can get them at Ojuelegba. @Op, that explorer is over priced. You should get an '06 for about N500k. |
