Today, MediaTek, the Taiwanese chip manufacturer officially unveils the Helio G85 SoC. It was already known since last week when Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 9. It seems to be a slight upgrade to the previous Helio G80 considering it still using the same CPU but a slightly faster GPU. The Helio G85 is a budget gaming chipset. Below, you'll find the specs of the Helio G85 chipset.
Display
The Helio G85 chipset supports displays with 2520 x 1080 (Full HD+) resolution at 21:9 aspect ratio.
Processor
The Helio G85 comes with two Cortex-A75 cores running at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 units at 1.8GHz. The Mali-G52 GPU now is clocked at 1GHz, unlike the Helio G80 that was doing 950MHz. It is 64-bit. It supports heterogeneous multiprocessing.
Memory and Storage
The Helio G85 SoC supports LPDDR4x RAM type. The memory frequency has a maximum of 1800MHz. The Helio G85 chipset Max RAM size is at 8GB. It supports eMMC 5.1 storage type.
Camera
The MediaTek Helio G85 chipset supports wide range of multi camera setup with wide angle, telescopic, macro and sensor sizes up to a large 48MP (4-cell). The G85 includes a multitude of hardware accelerators, including a hardware depth engine for dual-camera bokeh captures, Camera Control Unit (CCU), Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and Rolling Shutter Compensation (RSC) technologies, plus it can also perform ultra-fast recording up to 240fps.
Connectivity
It comes with Bluetooth version 5.0, WiFi 5, FM Radio, Beidou, Galileo, Glonass and GPS. It supports dual 4G SIM with VoLTE services.
Other Features
It supports the following MediaTek technologie CorePilot,  NeuroPilot, Pump Express, Tiny Sensor Hub,  Integrated VoW and HyperEngine Game Technology.

1st thing I always check when OEMs put up camera specs is the CPU specs. Many OEMs in Nigeria lie about phone features cos they know most Nigerian consumers are ignorant.
