17 scripts for 1500-1800 words per week is way too much. Except you meant per month. However your payment is very okay.
Try dropping it to 5 scripts per week and 17 scripts per month. And if you hurry your employees, you'll be at the disadvantage. They may write trash or they may copy and paste.
