I have been seeing pictures of my governor inspecting Ebonyi mall of recent. But what I usually ask myself, what will they sell in that mal? Will they upgrade gala hawking there? Why borrow money to build a mall when most Ebonyi people are poor and uneducated. Wait a minute, recently poverty ranking was released and poverty level in Ebonyi stood at almost 90%, this is among the highest in Nigeria right now. How will shops at that mall survive considering the fact that aside the NBS report it is manifestly clear that Ebonyi people are among the poorest people in Nigeria. The mall is another waste of resources because our people are still very very poor, the poorest in the entire southern Nigeria. It is a total waste, just like the flyover in state that hasn't seen up to 50 cars since it was constructed 2yrs ago. Our people are scattered all Lagos, PH, Onitsha, Warri, Kano, etc, hawking one thing or the other. Are these people the ones that will patronize the mall? Our people are mostly illiterates, and do majorly menial odd jobs. Educationally, Ebonyi state is the most backward in southern Nigeria. I was thinking that our governor should focus on education and human capital development to move our state from this demeaning level we are.

Ebonyi is not doing bad when you compare it with some states in the North. They are doing well. Don't mind people that say una dey sell fan yoyo and gala, as far as it pays its better than committing crime in foreign lands and scamming a whole tribe. |

Some Nigerians are very good at criticizing others that they perceived they are better than, Ebonyi State is among the fast developing states in Nigeria, some people are envious of the pace of development in Ebonyi State, some will say "Ebonyi people are not Igbos" while others will be shouting"Ebonyi people are the poorest people in the world" LOL. this same people that are better than Ebonyi State indigenes are still struggling with unemployment or under employment, paucity of infrastructure in their home states, some of them can not even travel to their villages because there are not motorable roads but in Ebonyi State the case is different, 80% of her villages are motorable. If you want to criticize Ebonyi State and her indigenes, please start the comparison from yourself ( who you are and what you think you have achieved so far that you think nobody in Ebonyi State could achieve), Family ( the worth of your family members e.g Bill gate family ($) you then compare your family with the families in Ebonyi State) you then do that for your LG and state. You can not claim to be better than somebody when your life is full of want. |

You mean Lagos-Ibadan express way gutter media poverty rate index? Yoruba have been doing this since after the war, i.e changing the narratives of virtually everything with their gutter medias yet Igbo are richer than you in all aspect. What does it benefit you guys to come up with an ordinary paper where you listed all your states at the top of any chart that you dubiously come up with knowing fully well that it's all lies? What do your lazy once gain? Please, i need honest explanation. |
