Is Toyota Yaris A Good First Car? by Smile4mee01(op): 10:19pm On Mar 21, 2015

Hi Nairaland,

I am seeking advice from experienced people.

I have been saving to by my first car just b4 my 30th birthday. I hear toyota cars are generally ok, but would you recommend a Yaris , maybe a 2007 - 2009 model.

Toyota corolla and camry just seem to common hence my preference for Yaris.

Looking forward to your advice.

Toyota cars r very good..with spare parts n fuel economy.. Esp with yaris, corolla n camry..i use a 2005 corolla nd its perfect

Actually, the Yaris is an ideal car for a first timer; easy to drive, easy to maintain and frugal on gas (if it's not kazeem-enhanced).

But then, there is the stereotype; Yarises ( or yarisi) are for women; or so everyone says.

U r good to go with a toyota product, jst get d one with d right engine to match ur priority ie economy or power n performance.

Finally be careful with all d Kazeens in town wen u finally get one cheesy

bc they r a big factor on hw much u will enjoy ur car. Though kazeens n toyota r friendly jst bc toyota can withstand their abuses n still run fine. Jst kw wen to say no to them n their abuses tongue

Gazzuzz answered that pretty good for you , so the little i'd add is Kazeem has this habit of masquerading as a mechanic. He is found at the side of busy roads, his habitat is usually littered with thermostats and abs rings, which he deems useless.

Kazeem's usual prey are relatively early model japanese cars :the toyotas and co; heck, he'd pulverize a recent model if he gets one....however, in dire moments he will not hesitiate to feed on any car.No Ford, benz or peugeot is from his wrath then.

Why not take a look at the Honda Civic it is a very good car too Yaris is for ladies and students. So 1.3l engine compared to a 1.7l engine in the Civic.
