Let X be the total number of Cups of coffee made by Miss Uche.

In essence, When 85% of X was consumed, 3 cups was left.
Mathematically we have X--85%x = 3

====> X- 85x/100 =3

(100X-85x)/100 = 3

Multiply both sides by 100.
100x -85x = 300.

=====> 15x = 300
X = 20

20 Cups of Coffee was made.

Mathematically we have X--85%x = 3
