He's asking the govt to takes these measures in 2015 when the govt was barely able to stay afloat and meet its financial obligations. Salaries were not being paid, oil was around 28 dollars a barrel by end of 2016 to 2016.

If you give a broken down car to the best F1 race car driver, there's nothing he can do with it. You cannot give a F1 race car driver like Hamilton a Honda car and expect him to compete with other race car drivers driving Ferrari cars built for racing.

It is just unfortunate that there are many ignorant Nigerians like you! Buhari didn't get a broken down car! He got a fighter jet but when you give a maiguard( gateman) a supersonic fighter jet to pilot he is bound to crash if he manages to figure put how to take off by accident.

Buhari was bound to fail, he lacked knowledge for the task and surrounded himself with equally ignorant folks. A man that failed in 1984/85 can't do better NOW!

If the funds those guys return home are enough, then why does the dollar keep appreciating over the Naira?

Oga, wake up...we need to diversify our economy because we import almost everything we use in this country. That's why the demand for dollars is high here.

Nigerians are so useless that they would condemn the little things the country produces because they say the imported products are better.

Funnily enough, they don't approach those foreign companies to give them jobs.
. I don't just like abusing people but our President is very stubborn and clueless. You ban the importation of some products without giving room for the local productions. You ban importation of rice, red oil and some agricultural products but failed to implement and introduce type of seeds and the purchasing unit.

Don't mind Nigeria stupidity. They are full of loots in them. IMF had been clamouring, they should make it window on import and export ration, they wouldn't listen. I created thread about it long ago. Nothing is done. The people (Government officials) they are there for themselves and non for the people.

The sad thing is that unfortunately we have too many delusional retarded brainwashed idiotic monkeys like you on social media posting trash.
In 2015 before Jonathan handed over to Buhari, there were fuel lines all over the country, States were unable to pay salaries, Jonathan and Nwela both have stated that they had to borrow money to pay salaries towards the end of the administration. Yet, delusional brain dead monkeys like you will come online and be posting rubbish for your fellow brain dead idiots to clap for.
I have included some links for you, that's if you have the capacity to read and comprehend simple articles.
Imagine a govt borrowing money just to pay salaries, not to execute capital projects BUT TO PAY SALARIES. And this idiot calls that a fighter jet economy. Dumb ass monkey.

Re: Nigeria Running Out Of FOREX – John Campbell, Ex-US Ambassador by omonnakoda: 3:49pm On May 16, 2020
Everyone is focused on OTHER sources of dollars so we can continue importing

I see it differently

We need to start PRODUCING most of what we consume

Creating more jobs and boosting our economy

We should aim to be sufficient in textiles, clothes, shoes, medicines, food, building materials

Why are we importing Okrika clothes, fish palm oil?
Let us aim for a time when other countries will lament that they are running out of Naira

They were not able to do, or were not willing to do so??!... I believe the latter holds true!!!

If we can honestly agree on that, then Buhari ought to do better, and set the nation on a better path to progress... Many world leaders have achieved this, and are still achieving this!!!

We can't continue to excuse failures...

Excusing failures is the reason they're comfortable not being proactive

The sad part is that we are forced to share a country with brain dead beings like you!
According to you they borrowed to pay salaries, so?
What difference does that make?

People like the being you want us to believe is a solution, instigated anti subsidy protests, making the country vulnerable.

Ironically, 8 years after, those same brain dead, power hungry beings have promised to remove subsidy.

How about the multiple exchange rates by the Buhari government? Search for oil in Chad basin?

Failure to adhere to rule of law? Etc

I won't be responding to you again, it is obvious you don't come from a place one could call a home.

If you are enjoying Buhari's loot with him, know the blood of millions is on your head and that of your evil principal.

It is 5 years since he took office, till date he has no achievement he could count on.

Nigerian state governments contribute a lot of problems in the country. They will come to Abuja every month, collect money and squander it. No single investment in the states. States were created in order to get quick and uniform developments. Where is the development in the states? No Governor is not corrupt. Despite the amounts of Dollars made from sales of crude oil by this country, we are still crying for the scarcity of Dollars. Shame!!!!!!

Really, print in more naira in a way of QE with no production to back it up.You mean Govr should share naira unearned to everybody like a candy to kids. Please I will like to know the school you learned that from.Because even Tinubu a trained accountant(not an economist)has walked back the talk on QE in Nigeria,Zimbabwe's case will be child's play if we try that.. The opprobrium it was subjected to made him recant quickly.

Btw,what is the obsession about loss making national assets like NNPC.Aramco of Saudi the biggest state owned oil corporation has already been floated.Do you think it was a light decision to take.Nobody tells a blind man outside that it is raining.

Exactly, GTB among other banks have also cut down on the monthly expenditure limit on foreign transactions from 1,500$ to 500$ a month.

It's really sad. My case is even worse, I don't work nor earn in abroad so it's my Nigerian funds I'm accessing here with all the hikes and limitations.

The issue of currency devaluation is becoming threatening to the revival of Nigerian economy in a tough time like this. This is a matter for the federal government to act swiftly and responsibly before citizens start feeling the heat of the fall in Naira against dollar. It's been long since government have been talking with confidence about diversifying of economy substantially from oil n gas. The wind has now blown and the anus of the hen has been exposed. Hope the arrival of the new chief of staff will have some positive impact and keep us on the way forward.
