Nigeria’s president Mohammadu Buhari has revealed his position regarding the use of herbal or traditional medicine to treat COVID-19 patients.

According to the president who made this known via his twitter handle, COVID-19 herbal or traditional medicines will not be used in Nigeria unless approved by NAFDAC and WHO.

In his words, "My position regarding all herbal or traditional medicines is that any such formulations should be sent to the statutory regulators for thorough scientific verification. We will not put anything to use in Nigeria without the endorsement of our regulatory institutions.”
