Does God Hate Some People? by LLcoolJAY123(op): 6:43pm On May 17, 2020
I actually asked this question because he doesn't answer my prayers. Ever since I have been praying, none of my prayers has been answered. Some people claim he answers them. Why is my own case different. Does he love some and hate some?

"And I will bless the work of your hands"

"Wherever the sole of your feet treads I will give you".

Once you make the decision to believe that there is a God who reigns and rules the universe, then that belief should also inform you that your God of choice is not biased, he works with time and seasons and works with certain principles.

First thing first.....Why have you resolved to believe that he doesn't hear you? Since you have done so much in way of prayers of request..asking, asking and asking...have you TRIED PRAISING??

It depends on the God you are referring to...
If it's the one told of in the Bible? Yes, he hates some and loves some.

No, Jesus did not lie when he said over and over that He will do for us what we ask Him for.

Imagine Jesus represents wisdom, as in 'know how'. Now ask if the wisdom you accumulate in your head does not help you accomplish whatever you want to accomplish.

Yeah, I know. Nobody calls Jesus the Wisdom that the Lord puts inside one's head, but the ignorant may pray for bread till Kingdom come and would still need to visit a baker or starve because, as sure as day, from the sweat of thy brow shall you eat.

Jesus is not the wisdom that the Lord puts inside of anybody's head. If He really was just that, He would have told you that. But since He didn't don't assume Him to be that which He did not tell you..... LOL
Jesus is the New COVENANT that God gave His people -- The way, the truth and the life. Jesus was not delusional when He said that He will do what you ask him to do. The wisdom in your head cannot do that for you, but He, Jesus can.

Let's stop bending the truth of God to suit our personal delusions abeg!

If you say so. The fact does remain that after all your praying, you get instructions about what to do to solve the issues you face. If that were not the case, you'd leave it all to God, or Jesus, instead of working for your daily bread.

God loves us all John 3:16. But you need to be born again before God can answer your prayers. If you're born again then you need to change your mindset that God does not love you and.

Now after praying what do you do? Do you go complaining or worrying that God has not answered you? first, you need yo believe that he has answered even before you pray. Then there's a waiting time which requires your patience and while waiting, go on thanking and praising him and dint just sit and be waiting and murmuring. He doesn't act in such situation.

Look up the book of Colossians 4:2. Also look at the case of Paul and Silas in the prison,. Normally they are suppose to be murmuring because of their condition, rather they prayed, they sang (hymns and thanksgiving songs) and then the Holy ghost came down and freed them from prison.

Keep praying and continue in the same with Thanksgiving.

You think our whining and our anxieties stop God from answering prayers? Is that what Jesus said? That God is hindered by our worries and your frustrations? undecided
So what happens in the case of those who suffer from mental illness, yes... those who are adiagnosed as clinically depressed, and/or those who are diagnosed with Generalized anxiety disorder or Generlized Panic attacks. Yes, I am talking of those some like to call "mad people", Are they doomed to never having their prayers answer because they worry and panic alot?

OP... be persistent in humbly asking GOD, not only for your wants that are in line with His will, but for His mercies... then wait on Him!

Luke 18:1-8
The Parable of the Persistent Widow

"Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ” Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." - Hebrews 11:6

"But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." - James 1:6-8

------------------

"O You who hear prayer, To You all flesh will come." - Psalm 65:2

Who is GOD?
"He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He." - Deuteronomy 32:4

Yes
OK. I had the same problem from when I was very young. And even after I decided to explore "Christianity"(I sensed He was calling me from patterns and events in my life), but no matter how much I "believed" or "exercised" my faith, nothing changed. Not until, I went back to read about and Obey what Jesus Himself said we ought to do as His followers.

The reason, I found was that I was a "Christian" by nickname only... I was not a true follower of Christ, like His disciples were. I did not even realize before this that Christ is the new covenant that God promised, and like the old covenant, He came with blessings & commandments( about 46 commandments, and a seal -- God Himself). Christ also commanded that we obey Him DAILY.

Please pick up a Bible(preferably in plain English) and begin reading the Book of Matthew from beginning to end(Ignore the verses), reading as if you were reading, say a novel. As you read, note the many places that Jesus commands reveals a truth e.g
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6).
You should be able to read through much of the book before the end of the week. As you read, look for opportunities in your daily life to put to work all that Jesus said to do. If possible, write down the blessings/commands and . Examples of his commands as as below...
Matthew 10 vs 34-39
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 And a person's enemies will be those of his own household.
37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it*.
I made bold there the parts where Jesus even suggests that those who do not obey that cannot be his disciples.
* that was by far the hardest for me

After I began doing what He commanded, not only did God show REVEAL himself to me, I started to change even without thinking to change myself. All that I struggled with, came to become second nature. And God Himself started answering my prayers, sometimes even before I pray them.

Most often, yes. Most who get ill run to a doctor who prescribes a cure that heals them. Such people obey the instruction they have received informing them that doctors spend many years learning their skill so might know more than most and could likely heal them.

You might see the instruction as used above as coming from God but only understood by those who have accepted Jesus the Logos into their lifes by imbibing the Word.

The Lord is thy Shepherd, Kobo. He gives you all that you want. But I bet you don't sit on your ass eating manna that falls from heaven. Or do you not attest to the truth that you work for your daily bread despite, or even, because you trust God?

The same Lord who said, "Trust him", also said, "from the sweat of thy brow", and the last time I checked, one must live by every single Word.

OLODUMARE or what you call God is not a man or possess human attributes infact it does not take part in the affairs of the universe. It just a creative force and the all in all of which everything including us is an integral part of not figuratively but literally...
Stop praying instead meditate more, show love and compassion to others, confess what you want your life to look like, never hurt nature of which we're a part of and be grateful. One love

It doesn't necessarily mean that you must be born again before God will answer your prayers. God love us even before we become born again. Don't get twisted, am not saying we should continue to sin and think God will ans our prayers. but God love us when we were still sinners. To the question of the op, it takes ur Faith to receive anything from God. You have to believe that has the capacity to give you what you want.

Yes, "our whining and our anxieties stop God from answering prayers". Whining and anxiety is a symptom of faithlessness. If I were to personify I'd call it the chatter of the devil. It deafens one to the voice of God so one misses God's answer to one's prayers.

If they reason right (you may read that as, accept Christ into their lifes which begins with a reading of the Word, then seeking understanding of the Word followed by an incarnation of the Word within their self so it becomes their flesh), they might stop worrying and panicking and learn to live with their condition, after all, its not cancer nor are they brain damaged, and even that!

Those who have faith know worrying can not add one cubit to their stature so do not whine nor get anxious, because the Lord comforts them already.

Well, fortunately, they do not. God is not human so such things do not keep Him from answering our prayers.

Not true! Even those who are in God can have anxieties and panic attacks. It does not diminish the presense of God in them in any way. And no, you do not stop worrying when God comes to live inside of you.
After all if that was true, then Jesus would never had had the anxieties He experienced the night at Gethsemane, and then on the Cross when God supposedly looked away from Him.

Having faith does not mean you don't have worries and anxieties. Nor does it mean you no longer despair. Some of the prophets in the Bible are good examples of this. Ever read up about the life of the "Wailing" Prophet i.e Jeremiah?

I think it depends on the complexity of what one asks God for and how well one is able to comprehend. Sometimes, God burns a bush and expects to be understood, and sometimes our requests are so complex God instructs us bit by bit over many years.

Even when He burnt a bush in the Bible, His message was clearly received by those who were willing to hear it. He does not expect to be understood -- those who want to hear Him do so, but those who do not, don't

I suspect that they were, mentally ill, that is. They inspire me! But guess what? That didn't hinder God from interacting with them and responding to their prayers either. Faith in Christ is the same as Faith in God. Jesus did say, that none of what He said were His own words but what the Father fed Him to say. grin

Manna fell from Heaven in the OT for a period, by the way, but Jesus never said my "daily bread" would fall from Heaven. I am not being vague as I am refering to that which Jesus commanded His followers do as below
Matthew 6 vs 25 - 34
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

You might notice I referred to the same verse.

You said in a response to someone else, "no matter how much I "believed" or "exercised" my faith, nothing changed. Not until, I went back to read about and Obey what Jesus Himself said we ought to do as His followers", and "After I began doing what He commanded, not only did God show REVEAL himself to me, I started to change even without thinking to change myself".

Basically, the Lord was working on you even though you were not conscious of it, so yes, I can see how it seems like manna. However, you appear to disregard the immense work you did in "reading about and obey" and "doing what He commanded", basically, accepting Christ into your life, which you now reap the reward of.

God reveals messages and instructions at an individual level, is what I find. As is written, "The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them", each receiving as is required, which does depend on Grace and one's effort too. It is after all a big book, and not many can read from the beginning to the end and seek understanding too.

Manna? Manna was for the Israelites and their time in the desert. What I receive and speak of is more what Jesus promised in my Daily bread. And yes, obeying His every commands daily is the reality of the new covenant that is Jesus Christ.
Think of the disciples of Jesus... they each had to abandon family, career etc to follow Him and He sustained them all. He did not have a roof over His head but they went with Him anyways. Even after He died, they continued living as He had instructed them.

The messages and instructions I obeyed where those revealed about 2000 years ago, but my experience so far is that it is true.
