These greetings are only peculiar to the Edos (Binis)
It is the juniors in Edo that usually greet their elders in family morning salutations

Repping lamogun. Like descendants of all post-Ogiso Obas.

Incidentally a true child of the empire. Extended family members still scattered across Ondo, both Ovia LGAs, and indeed all of Edo South.

Not many are lucky to know how widely scattered relatives are. So I laugh when detractors deny the empire. To narrate my family history is to narrate part of imperial history.

Dude, I know you want to be cheeky. We know Olu of Warri, were his family to have remained in Benin, his family would have Lamogun as morning greeting. Like yours truly.
But the Itsekiri culture that he came to be at the Apex of do not use family morning greeting.

Urhobo, Okpe, Isoko, Degema, majority of Esan people, Isaleko and royalty/Aristocracy of Lagos and many who acknowledge their Benin connections have no family morning greetings.

This in no way negates the fact they have Benin/Edo ancestry. Same applies to Ikwerre and others if reliable history says they have Benin connections. Cultures evolve in time and location. Not static.

They are Benin they're Benin you can't force them to be what you want them to be

Even our closet relatives esan dont have the benin greetings does it remive the fact they aint edo.....

The people of USEN in Ovia South West LGA of Edo State who are direct descendants of Afelogiyan [Oranmiyan's OLDER brother] have DEBUNKED that claim by the palace in Benin. There are other communities near USEN such as Egbeta and Utese in Edo State that came from Ufe [Ife] as well. The family salutation in USEN or Benin for instance of families with Ife ancestry is delauhe (How is UFE or Ife) .

The first video timestamp from 09:57 to 10:30 BELOW, shows the "Esogban of Benin" explaining clearly where hIs direct male ancestor came along with Oranmiyan [from Ile Ife in Osun State on his way to becoming the first Oba of Benin] and the unique family salutations or ways of greeting one another in Benin based on their different family ancestral origins.
