Agriculture happens to be the base of all human activitiy. No human civilization would stay alive if there was no form of agriculture. This leads me to ask Nigerian farmers and everyone who is actively practicing some form of agriculture;

"What are the challenges you face with agriculture in Nigeria?"

I'd know if I were into agriculture but as it is, many Nigerians like myself are unaware of what goes on in your world. I'd like to know what your challenges are and if it's possible to think out a solution through mobile software and computer science.

This is more than what farmers face, in fact it terrorism masked behind Nomadic culture. What do you think about the idea of a ranch instaed of open grazing as we have it now?

Yes the idea of ranch is good but the herdmens will not accept it.

It's not about acceptance. They'll slowly go out business if there are enough ranches in the nation. They'll obviously not oblige to working in a ranch themselves but if their means of livelihood becomes threatened, they might come to a compromise. But it's not about them basically, if we rear cattle and every state in the country has ranches of their own, preference will be given to state produced meat and diary products rather than the patronage of herders.

But that won't stop herders and farmers clashes.

Solutions to problems like these are long term. I see this as a solution that averts bloodshed and hostility towards any sect. If not, military intervention solves the problem at once but it's not a step the government is willing to take so why not try the other subtle but effective means?
