Theme : Where is your garment?

Read : Mathew 22 vs 11-14
*22:11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment*
*22:12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless*.
*22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth*.
*22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen*.

*Memorise : 1 pet 4 vs 17*.
*For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God*?

*Meditate on this* : *Judgement will start from friends and not servants*.

Yesterday we learnt the importance of having a _spotless garment_ in preparing for the marriage supper of the lamb.
A careful study of the story, in Mathew 22 vs 1-14,will reveal many lessons,but today we want to focus on the friend of the king who did not put on his garment ,and because of this,he was bound hand and foot, and was cast into outer darkness,where he was weeping.
Studying this story critically will make us to understand that judgement will start from, friends and not servants nor the invited guest. Who is a friend ? A friend is anyone who is a member of the house hold of God and has been given access to divine secret and mysteries according to the verse below.
Mark 4 vs 11: .....unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without ,all these things are done in parables.
The bible give us a clearer understanding in 1 pet 4 vs 17: For the time is come that judgement must begin at the house of God, and if it first begin at us ,what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God ?

From the passage above it is clear that judgement will start from friends, especially those of us who are his friends. And like the friend of the king, in the story no excuses will be acceptable.
Furthermore, in John 15 vs 15:
Henceforth I call you not servants,for the knoweth not what his Lord doeth: *but I have called you friends: for all things that I have heard of my father I have made known unto you.

From the passage above, we could deduce that as a *friend* of the king, he would have told him beforehand ,when the wedding was taking place, but he still came without a garment. Just like some of us already knows the *end is near*,but we are still *unprepared*.The Bible is still warning his friends in *1 pet 4 vs 7*: *But the end of all things is at hand : be ye therefore sober ,and watch unto prayer*.
In conclusion, he is standing at the door and knocking at the heart of everyone , who has lost their garment or those whose garment have been, defiled to give them a new one( Rev 3 vs 20). Please open the door for him today.

1. Father help me to work out my salvation with fear and trembling in Jesus name.
