The truth is I see no other Career than joining the Nigerian military I know alotta people here would say I should look into doing something better but I do manage part of my Dad's business down North, either I'm there or not I'll still get my profits plus schooling in the south west has also opened me to lotta people and business opportunities like crypto currency trade e.t.c and it has been doing great lately but I really don't feel career fulfilled unless I join the military.

Now, the problem is not "you'll need connection joining", my dad got connections in the military to help me but the big problem is the grade I'll be graduating with (2.2/3rd class) I read the military don't accept such result and the thing is, its not that I'm not brilliant but I just never took reading and attending class seriously cause I felt I'll never need the certificate to search for work n that's even why I even opted for an Agricultural course to ease my stress, I'm currently in 400Level.

My immediate elder sister on the other hand graduated with 1st class in Linguistics and got the necessary support and help from Family friends in the Force needed in joining the Nigerian Navy. I wouldn't have problems if I intend going back to the North after school but it's cool down south west over there (Ibadan to be precise) and I also intend residing over there. I'm the last born and the only guy with 2 sisters the first born is in UK. Tho she has hint me severally on coming over after school but going abroad to stay permanently is not at all in my Life plans I love it here.

Nairalanders, I'll need every career advice I can get from you guys on how I can go about it. I initially thought doing PGD first then masters(I'll be serious with studies this time) but I heard even if do masters my Bsc cert is still what would be used in the recruitment n that's a disqualification. I need real help folks on what to do like seriously Thanks in anticipation

What level are you in school, if you're yet to begin your final year you can push harder for a good grade...the military can take you with a 2.2 especially if it's up to a 3.0 CGPA ...don't give up yet, your seminars, projects and some final year courses can still help give you a little boost in your grade... just try...final year favoured me.

By the way, the military is something I'm also looking forward to after NYSC

Go to Canada, Naturalize and join their military over there.Or joinnthe NPF or Immigration here..All of them na same thing. But if you want small combat experience, Join the NSCDC then make sure the post you to Special Forces branch, make them come deploy you to Maiduguri of Benue. Then you will see action film.

Also consider your passion. If your passion is to protect life and properties then good for you.

Anyways, The military, land army accepts second class lower. Only the navy & Airforce do not.


Personally, I will never join the Nigerian Army current, they seem to be pawns in a bigger game by the elites due to this boko thing

Well my own Advice to you is that you try much better in finishing with a better grade just like vikkimimi said since ur not done yet and even if at all you finish with 2.2 still try applying and meet those family friends in the Force if any help can be given

Also note in the military you'll also read and even read very hard if you want to get promoted on time..just let reading get part of you . my 2cent

if protecting lives and property is your passion they are many ways to do that without joining the military Or you just admire the military occupation.

If your mind is in the military then read about the French foreign legion. After 4 years you would be getting a French passport much better than the zoological republic and the salaries are very high.

If you come out with pass don't wait for too long before you top up with Masters,the truth is that you might not need it right away,but it will come in handy in near future.
Those certifications always count at the end,even if it's for a day.
As for your military career,you can still give it more push since that is what you want.
Soldiering is not all about academics,they look at your strength In other endeavors to place you where you will fit in perfectly one of the major reason they always seat for an aptitude test before final drafting.
Whatever you do,make sure you stay out of trouble,wish you the very best

ur contribution is really appreciated. sitting and passing the future aptitude test is not a problem for me I'll rather just get serious the problem I've got atm is the application stage esp when my degree result is coming to play

Use the word commission instead of recruitment. Recruitment is for O'Level.
