how does that concern you. Allow him to express his opinion as you have been expressing yours. Everybody can not think the same way.

Don't mind the mofo! We fool ourselves with our mislplaced sense of security in the south in general and Igboland in particular, if we think we don't have a problem on our hands with this clandestine movement of truckloads of northerners down south! What are they looking for in Igboland? They've held power for the greater part of 60 years since 'independence' and deprived Igbos of political and economic advantages at any given opportunity! Yet now they're leaving their 'el-dorado' with all its advantages of producing presidents....hundreds of local gov'ts....gov't enabled billionaires.....smooth expressways.....multi-million dollar dams.....smooth higways and flyovers.....inter-state train services.......they leave all these and are breaking the lockdown to sneak into Igboland that they've marginalised and deprived from 1966 to date!

I actually feel for them as these youths are equally victims of the wickedness, nepotism, bigotry, greed and visionless rulership of their elite, but i'm now in self-preservation mode and have to first think of securing my homeland from COVID, threats of terrorism and any other thing the presence of these youths may bring to the south-east!

Truth be told, these are NOT economic migrants! Nor are they Almajiri kids.

Which economic migrants leave the cities where there is work and go into the forests where they will live, strategize and launch their operation from? Now another f00l will say because they want to live in Igbo forests and eat fruits for survival. Now, tell me if there are not similar forests in Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa or Kogi?

It's a tragedy that some of our governors still fail to realize what is currently happening is a build-up of northern fighters in our villages and states as a prelude to their attack of the region.

If Northerners retaliate in like measure, asking Igbos to Open up throttle and leave immediately you will be crying Victimisation.
There are Igbos all over kano more than we ever want.
If Almajiri are not allowed in SE what about hundreds of thousands of igbos who leave Abia, Imo, Enugu etc to seek better life in North

Crap!

There are millions of Fulani youths already in Igboland and transacting their businesses. Nobody is asking those to leave.

There is currently a national lockdown due to Coronavirus that even the President asked everyone to remain in their state for now. Why is Kano claiming to deport Almajiri, only to send truck loads of people down south during this lock down era? Now that businesses are closed, what work will they be doing in the south?

Meanwhile, why can't they live in the towns and cities instead of living in the forests and people's farmlands?

ONLY A F00L WILL MISS YOUR EVIL PLAN OF A BUILDUP OF YOUR MILITIA IN OUR FORESTS!

You can chase the Igbos in the north away for all we care. We shall also respond by chasing all the northerners already in Onitsha,Asaba, Ugwu Oba, Abakaliki, Okigwe, Umuahia, Port Harcourt, Aba and Owerri away. Nobody is perturbed by your threat. If you can't obey the president's order on non-movement to curtail the spread of COVID-19, then do your worst and expect our retaliation.

Almajirs are not the only one violating the lockdown restriction.
thousand of igbos must have.
You people go into frenzy of rage anytime Hausa/Fulanis try entering your state giving babyish excuses as organizing army in your state.

If they attack us in our own land, they'll be massacred. They are grossly outnumbered, 20+ million to a few thousand. They might be uneducated but they're not brainless.

I think they're coming for food. They probably heard about Igbo people giving out food to their people in towns and villages and so are heading there for survival sake.

It's not like Borno State where they have millions of potential recruits. In Igboland all they have are those they can fit on a truck and then, attacking Igboland would surely fracture the country. Something they do not want to happen.

So we should allow poor Northern beggars to wander our land because Igbo people run legitimate businesses in the North.

How about equity. We run businesses in their land, they do the same in Igboland. If either group is unable to take care of themselves, they should be put on a bus and sent back to their next of kin.

Bros, thank you for your post. I just want to respectfully disagree. That boy arguing pointlessly up there is doing the classic Fulani propaganda! They are being denied access to parts of Nigeria whereas they are Nigerians. Again, nobody is denying legitimate Fulani business men and women access to anywhere. The people migrating and hiding in goods lorries and petrol tankers, chose to troop in the most suspicious disguised manner at a time of national lockdown. Again, these people are not children almajiris nor women that you will expect if a total population is migrating for economic reasons. They are all grown men of military age.

Whoever or whatever makes southerners think that going to secondary school or university translates to "wisdom" higher than ab0kis?
Ofcourse they are not stupid. If anyone can be stupid in this case, it is our southern people that find all sorts of justification or conjectures to explain away what is obvious. Think of how the north will react if truckloads of IPOB boys travel to the north and go into their forests to set up camps instead of living with other Igbos in the northern cities. There are more vast farmlands in the north and cheaper food than anywhere in the East. There are more jobs in Abuja or Lagos than anywhere in the East. Why aren't they trooping to Abuja? Why aren't they trooping into the vast farmlands in other places?

If you have ever served, you will know that 20 men with AK 47 are more powerful than 2 million people that are totally defenceless. They made sure the SE is totally defenceless even stripping the community vigilantees the right to archaic guns to combat robbery in their communities.

There are people who are so distressed to look at hard facts and danger to their lives, so they will always try to convince themselves that there isn't any danger lurking around. The truth is that history has showed that even when you decide to play the ostrich to clear and obvious danger, it does not remove the danger or reduce it.

With the move of the CBN to exclusively deny common businessmen of foreign exchange, while DANGOTE now gets even greater exclusive rights to the country's Foreign currency. The time has come for businesses to float international money transfer services for Nigerian businesses and for Nigerians abroad. TRUST is the key factor needed for Nigerians abroad to trust using this Nigerian owned App for money transfer. Unless Nigerians abroad use the APP for money transfer, the set up will never be successful. So they must be very diligent to avoid any type of Nigerian behavior of mago-mago with peoples' money, else it will not command the confidence these historical money transfer services have.

This will help those supporting their aged parents with stipend with a better exchange rate than what CBN offer, , and also international money transfer into the international bank account of ordinary Nigerian businesses who need foreign currency but cannot compete with the Dangote.

They can get foreign currency paid directly into their foreign bank accounts when they pay in naira using their local bank accounts through a participating Nigerian bank.

A drive along Enugu-Abakaliki expressway.

I'm impressed with the ride. The road looks durable....is adorned with working streetlights.....is relatively neat, clean and clear of that annoying sand/sediment you normally see on some of our roads when the gov't just couldn't be arssed to sweep it....there's well tended lawns at some points....and i can see a effort to plant trees as well. The only negative i see is that the road isn't marked.

To speak the truth without propaganda, Abakaliki today is easily in the top 2 best cities in the SE. Infact, only one city in the SE has more dual carriage roads within the city than Abakaliki. They just need to invest and create many new housing estates for private sector to develop quality housing to help transform the city.

If they continue with quality roads and infrastructure as they are doing, it will become indisputably the best and most liveable city in the SE within 5 - 8 years.

Experts urge govs to set up laboratories As the COVID-19 pandemic rages in the country, 20 states are yet to have testing laboratories. Some of the states experiencing community transmission are among the top 10 with the disease.

This is happening as Nigeria’s testing capacity still trails behind what obtains in neighbouring African countries. As at Friday, Nigeria had 26 laboratories spread iacross 17 states. The country has also tested 40, 043 samples. This is far below the target set by the Federal Government to have about 68 test centres for COVID-19. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), in its strategy document published on April 15, projected establishing 68 testing centres and two mobile laboratories within 45 days.

States without COVID-19 laboratories have lamented that they encounter hurdles sending samples to Abuja or other neighbouring states, as well as long waiting time for results. They said the absence of testing centres was one of their major challenges in the ongoing fight against the virus. Some states have to wait for over a week to get test results, with some of their drivers getting infected in the process of transporting samples.

Checks by Daily Trust Saturday revealed that Akwa Ibom, Benue, Bayelsa, Enugu, Nasarawa, Kebbi, Niger, Jigawa, Yobe, Ekiti, Bauchi, Ondo, Zamfara, Abia, Taraba, Kogi, Cross River, Katsina, Gombe, Kwara have no COVID-19 testing laboratories. Some states have laboratories in hospitals or private facilities that could be upgraded for COVID-19 testing, however, that has not been done till date.

Ogun State, for instance, has established a molecular laboratory but still sends samples to Osun because it awaits NCDC accreditation. The state is in close proximity with Lagos, which has the highest number of COVID-19 cases. However, some states can boast of two or three laboratories.

They are Kano, Ogun, Lagos, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kaduna, Sokoto, Edo, Anambra, Borno, Osun, Plateau , Oyo, and Ebonyi, among others. They, however, said there was minimal support from the NCDC or the Federal Government in setting up or funding most of the laboratories. In Gombe State, there is no testing laboratory for COVID-19. Here, samples are sent to the NCDC in Abuja for daily test. The state’s focal officer on COVID-19 response, Dr Mohammed Kwami, said the test results usually come out in at least 48 hours, after which they are scanned and sent back to the Special Task Force on COVID-19 secretariat.

He said taking the samples to Abuja on a daily basis was not convenient, but added that they are using the channel as a temporary measure, pending when the state would get its own laboratory.

Our region should take the issue of this pandemic seriously.

Anambra and Ebonyi have COVID-19 testing labs. The Anambra one is private, but not sure if the Ebonyi one is state or federal enabled.

Why am i not surprised that Abia and Imo don't have any! Those two states have the unenviable record of being the two worst governed states in the south-east!
