This is my second Topic. And as part of supporting my fellow engineering students, that are at home due to COVID-19, I will try to make us busy while earning little money. The first 3 people to get the answers correctly before 11:59pm Nigerian time will get €20 each. I have included the answers, what I need from you are the steps.

Is that calculation for centre of gravity? Besides that's strength of materials... I can solve the one for centre of gravity but not reinforcement, I haven't been taught that yet. |

Also in the first pic you wrote "resistance" and I don't understand what you mean. On a second thought and after going through your previous post it seems his question is more CIVIL engineering and I'm a mechanical engineering student.. no wonder the question seemed odd ![]() |

It's not center of gravity. It's about T-beam Reinforcement. Ejusni: |

Yes.. it's for civil/structural engineering students. Ejusni: |

Op, are those points that you're writing as commas? Eg. In Nigeria it's 0.3 NOT 0,3. Just clarifying. What country are you typing from? Anyway I would have solved it, but during strength of materials classes, I used to sneak out of class to eat okpa and coke |
| Re: Engineering Students, Can You Solve This? by labas370(op): 3:05pm On May 23, 2020 |
Yes. The stress block diagram. Mykel51: |
| Re: Engineering Students, Can You Solve This? by labas370(op): 3:08pm On May 23, 2020 |
Lol.. yes those commas are . 0,06m is 0.06m. And using the normal EURO-CODE Rgade: |

labas370:An using the BS code... getting different values... Kindly recheck the parameters you gave especially that concrete strength... |
| Re: Engineering Students, Can You Solve This? by Nobody: 3:28pm On May 23, 2020 |
labas370:Ok, I thought so. |
| Re: Engineering Students, Can You Solve This? by boscho(m): 3:49pm On May 23, 2020 |
My own problem is assurance of getting d prize u mentioned, I will do it easily |
| Re: Engineering Students, Can You Solve This? by labas370(op): 3:53pm On May 23, 2020 |
You don't need to use the BS code.. the all the needed informations I gave. Send the pic of the one you solved with the BS code. Mykel51: |
| Re: Engineering Students, Can You Solve This? by labas370(op): 3:59pm On May 23, 2020 |
The concrete strength you don't need to convert it. They have already been converted. Fcd and Fyd.. so just use them as they are there.. but what I might add to help your calculations... I will try to add the photo. Mykel51: |

I have shown how I got {lim = 0.617 And I have included the formula to help you solve the remaining... Let me know if you need any more information. Mykel51:

I will give the price as long as it's within the timeframe I gave. And the answers are correct. boscho: |
| Re: Engineering Students, Can You Solve This? by Mykel51(m): 4:26pm On May 23, 2020 |
labas370:Oh, I see where the issue is...I am using a formula totally different from this. I first checked if the S was within the flange. When I confirmed it wasn't, I then carried out a resolution to determine the Fcw to get the new S and X value. Design of Structural Elements by Mosley is my reference here... The formula above for X is not clear enough. Please can you rewrite it in a bigger way.
