Good morning nairalanders, beware of the ongoing scams currently in the country now. Just this morning, a number call me from access bank 07041353891. Our conversation goes like this, Guy(Acess bank) - Good morning, I am from access bank and do you know that the federal government is giving out 25,000 to the citizen to buy food stuff. Me- As a sharp guy, i pretend to play along. I said no, that is good, am happy ooo. How can i get the money, that they should transfer it to my account. Guy(Access bank) - That is the reason why we call you. The only way you can get it, is to send your ATM card details, all the numbers on it. Me- I don smell foul play, i said the federal government can not ask me to send my card details and that they already have my card details with them that i can only send my account no, the guy said it cant work that way. Meanwhile, i can't even send my account no to them, i was trying to play along. So we begin to argue on it, then he said the bank manager will speak to me in respect of that Bank manager(fake) - Who happens to be a female in a polite tone, Good morning, the federal government is giving out cash to their customer, and we will like you to call your atm card information for us to send you the money or dont you need it, is the card with u Me- I said yes, laughing quietly, how would a bank call me on sunday morning requesting my atm information. Bank Manager(fake) - Am waiting, so i gave them a false number. She said are you sure. Me- confirm yourself Bank manager(fake)- guy, you don't want to corporate, I will block your bank account. Just to help you transfer your money, u refuse, u want to die in poverty abi Me- Don't you and your family need the money, u are even calling on Sunday morning, u na no get job. U can't block my bank account. See unprofessional mumu, telling me u will block my account. Me--You this ashawo, go and look for better job. You and your partner will go to jail soon. Dem go arrest all of you wey dey scam innocent citizen Bank manager(fake) - - -Shut up, shouting at me and we begin exchange words till they disconnect the call. Everyone, let us be careful. Even bank will never ask you of your bank account number, Atm details, pin, otp, and Bvn on phone. If you feel u have issue, you go to the bank in person. This scammers are using this period to defraud innocent Nigerians. Lets be guided and if you suspect malicious information, go to your bank rather than divulging sensitive information to strangers. |
