Niger Delta Will Be The Poorest Region In Nigeria If Oil Looses Value. by bigpriik: 11:42am On May 25, 2020
There is always this misconception that the North will be the poorest region in Nigeria If our oil runs outs but they are wrong i think it's Niger delta.geographically this region is at disadvantage because it is mainly occupied by swamps and salt water (especially ijawland and Rivers)this is not a good land for agriculture because very few crops can grow where there is saltwater, now fishing activities has being hampered by pollution.
if our oil runs out the West maybe forced to back to Cocoafarming the North back to groundouts ,the east back to oil palm what about the South? Do not forget the South was irrelevant to Nigerian economy until oil was discovered.there are not active seaports seaport in the South, no reliable airport to generate revenue.
My opinion though.

I'm sure u also believe that South south people don't wear clothes, live on trees and feed on wild animals that's why they remained irrelevant to the economy until 'your' oil was discovered ''in your backyard''...! Ole

Niger delta must be freed, oil or no oil. mine u, palm oil was the main source income in niger delta and not igbo. that s why is was called oil delta. coa coa plantations in cross river produced 40% of the coacoa produced in nigeria, niger delta is blessed with evergreen vegetation that provides timber another major source of income, niger delta is accessible to the ocean and marine resources, i ask okoro what do u have?, The day nigeria dissolves, that s when una eye go clear.

Oga no let HausaFulanis deceive you with divide and rule. We are one people in the SE/SS in the eyes of Muslims HausaFulanis supremacists.. I'm IPOB from Edo state.
In the North, HausaFulanis are less than 50% of the 19 state but hardly seek division from birom, Kanuri, igbira, tiv, jukun, eggon, igala, idoma, etc that make up over 50% of the North. So why will u be shouting SS/SE as if Fulanis don swear for u.!!

Lol, your problem is hydraheaded, partly an inability to read and comprehend, and partly due to ignorance.

Yes, Igbos call afonjas ndi ofe nmanu basically because they don't know how to prepare soup without spoiling it with too much palm oil.

There is no village in Igboland that does not produce palm oil and kernels in large quantities. Until the 90's, many household in the villages rely on proceeds from Palm oil and kernels to earn a living in combination with subsistence farming. Similarly, most states in the East have large oil palm plantations.

Really, you want to compare yourself with SE in terms of survival potentials? Even with our industry, commerce and huge diaspora population which earns huge remittances. If there is any ethnic group that can easily survive post Nigeria, it is definitely the Igbos!
