If the reasons above are not damning enough to you, it means you too will be deeply corrupt if you ever attain any leadership position.

Very watery allegations. It’s very obvious they simply want him out just to make the bank an instrument of western control of African countries.
Why are you most Nigerians think and judge with emotions ?

Nepotism and unethical practices are serious offence in any reputable organization. E.g. In MDCN ( Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria) going against the ethics is enough to withdraw a license of a medical doctor or suspend him.
When he took office he signed to uphold the ethics - i.e rules and regulations guiding the organization, so why go against it now?

Don't use what happens in a banana republic like Nigeria as a case study to what happens internationally especially with reputable financial institution like AFDB. That is why Nigeria is such a mess because of gross nepotism ...

All the allegations are serious, very serious. You don't run any financial organization like a family business otherwise you will employ charlatans that will cripple investments worth billions of dollars.

Have you asked yourself why many banks in Nigeria you think that are big are being bought overnight? e.g. Diamond, Oceanic...
somebody like one emir will like to compensate his concubines and cronies with juicy positions. these are nonentities who don't understand banking. what do you expect, they run it down and risk billions of investors money

Have you done an evaluation of all the appointments done by the world bank president? Who is the family member that Adesina appointed to AFDB? Have you read his response to the allegations? Are you aware that the ethics committee of the bank investigated all the allegations leveled against him and cleared him on all counts? Smh!
let an independent investigation take place ok,we will all here dey outcome, thanks

What you fail to understand is that there is virtually no government without corruption, you hear what they want you to hear. They will never stoop so low into allowing an outsider put them in a helpless situation. America will fight for it's citizen no matter what he or she does and same applies to their fraudulent acts outside the shores of the USA.its still the same mentality we are carrying all around, nothing good can come out of a Nigerian because we are "corrupt" come to think of it, if developed nation's tend to fight for their citizens no matter the gravity of their offence why are there countries moving forward since you said Nigeria won't klmove forward with such mentality. Being your brothers keeper has nothing to do with economic infrastructure rather it will create a UNITY impression to the outside world and they would not even try to Bleep with our brains.

Who stopped those expatriates from being tried in Nigeria? Is it not because of corruption that our leaders or govt officials refuse to try them but rather pally with and help the expatriates/foreigners after they have been given some hard currency?
Let's not be emotional about this...if Adesina is culpable, let him go for it. Corruption and nepotism is a disease...we can never move forward in this country if we continue to reason this way.

Trump no appoint his daughter and son-in-law in his government
He appointed them into his kitchen cabinet, not the govt...get your facts right. Every govt agency or ministry appointee must be screened and approved by Congress, just like our National Assembly does here.

Ivanka and Jared Kuschner never went to Congress for any screening.

The comments from many people here is the reason why I always say that the problem of Nigeria is not just about it's leaders, APC, PDP, Buhari, etc, but also the followers/the masses.
See people jumping to support Adesina despite the weighty allegations levelled against him in an international organization, not Nigerian organization, without waiting for the independent panel to probe, investigate and present their report before taking sides.
It's the same way our people are quick to defend their kinsmen who are govt officials but were exposed in corrupt practices simply because " he is our brother".
For me, if Adesina is found culpable, he should resign & be held accountable and if otherwise, he should continue in his re-election bid.

Se fini!
oga, they want adeshina out simple as nobody holy pass, other african nations are just eyeing the seat to do theirs as well, get the drift. There is no fair hearing anywhere in this world, if you are strong to be stopped, they simply dig out your dirt and you are out. This is the painful part to see a diligent Nigerian no longer heading a prestigious body like afdb and watch out how Nigeria will be disadvantaged when the guy is finally out. This is our pain. Let's not be too legalistic

Hmmmm.... To be a little bit objective, all these "bombs" still remain allegations until they are proven. However, it looks like the petitioners did their homework so well that it may be hard for bros to come out "unstained".

I think he should resign to avoid further embarrassment.

I can only hope that the investigation would be handled by reputable independent auditors and not those that will come and act a prepared script.

Whenever someone who might bring development(because he's not a northerner who is easily controlled by Europeans and America) gets to a key post, these pigs will start accusing him/her.. same thing was done to the owner of air peace...

Allegations can be brought up against anyone on earth, I can allege today that "president Trump" is a child molester, will that make America resign their president?

Second, what's America's business in the dealings of an AFRICAN BANK?

IS IT CORRUPTION?
IS THAT THE ONLY PLACE WHERE CORRUPT PEOPLE HAVE BEEN REPORTED?
DON'T THEY GET NEWS OF BASTARDLY CORRUPT POLITICIANS IN NIGERIA IN KEY GOVERNMENT POSITIONS?
GOVERNORS, MINISTERS AND ALL(mostly north) PLUNDER RESOURCES AND CRIPPLE SECTORS WITH IMPUNITY AND AMERICA(almighty jesus of the world) turn a blind eye...

WAIT AND SEE WHO THEY WILL REPLACE HIM WITH.

Wait for the report of the independent investigation panel first before concluding. We all know that the average Nigerian and Nigerian official is corrupt, nepotistic and a flouter of due process...so I will rather wait. If Adesina is found culpable, he should go for it. I will never support corruption, nepotism and all associated evils, even if it's perpetuated by my father or blood brother, how much more Adesina. He sabi me before? He has been President of AFDB for 5 years and Nigerian Minister of Agriculture for 4 years...did he know me then or give me anything all through that period? Even if he did, evil is evil...I will not support it.

The average Nigerian loves to support evil, that's why we are still backward today

The Nigerian just cannot handle authority, power and privilege without abusing it. It is our sub-culture. No one cares to go in, serve with professionalism and dignity and leave with only an ovation and best regards. Legacy is a foreign language to us. Just see how this man has ended a promising career where the world was at his feet. Just sad.

Nigerians can see how a properly structured system will identify and eject corruption just as tye white blood cells arrest pathogens. If it wereto be Nigeria no one below him will be able to comment thoughtless of considering removing him.
Sir...you have hit the nail on the head...only God can help the mentality of the people in this country.

That is the typical Nigerian thought process. Well it doesn't work in other climes where for instance a Board is there for a reason. If he wanted his way then he had to persuade the Board, lobby them or whatever but to ride over them speaks only wrong.
The guy who you quoted has been bastardized by the typical Nigerian mentality...the "we-we" mentality... they think they can bring it to bear anywhere they find themselves. It just proves the fact that it will take a complete brain and mentality reset to begin to move our country forward.

A president is free to appoint whoever he wants into his kitchen cabinet...such people will not go through screening. Trump did it, Buhari did it, etc. Prof. Gambari did not go through any senate screening, same goes for Femi Adesina, Garba Shehu, etc.

We will continue to humiliate ourselves outside......we are becoming a people without shame!

A Nigerian was appointed in Liberia....we made it tribal here
Another Nigerian supposedly in Sierra-Leone...we subjected it to tribal battle.

Now Adesina is in the web, these same nincompoops and ne'er-do-wells are doing the same exact thing. One animal here even said he carried his PDP blood there. Another orangutan said because he is Yoruba.

We should be ashamed of ourselves.
I agree with you 100%

you see our problem, must someone be our personal person before we stand up for them? Has he not served well, don't think of yourself alone, he's being afdb head has brought lots of benefits for Nigeria as afdb largest shareholder, other african countries want our money but are not ready to give us our dues as a Nation Let's always think National interests first. Lots of projects in Nigeria are being funded by afdb including electric power projects to improve our power and lots more. Am not a big fan of the man but his presence in that office is giving Nigeria lots of gains which our african brothers are not happy about. Think Nationally first, he doesn't have to be your family member

They already do that through the IMF and the World Bank, and they have a stake in the AfDB.

Besides, the US does not need to own the bank or remove Adesina to get African leaders to dance to their tune.
