An event happened that was experienced. I asked you to tell me because you said the internet can reveal a lot.

And yes, you can tell me about Festac that I won't know.

But if I have repeatedly experienced it, there's nothing you'll read online that will overrule the experience

Simple example:
You can read online on how to control a car on speed when the brakes are lost.

Until you drive a car, you won't know that you have less than 5 seconds to practice all what you read or kill yourself, kill others or damage properties

Do you understand my point now?.
lol you re using a different type of analogy all together.

Do you know that someone in America can tell you in Nigeria the root cause of corruption in the system?
Do you know I in Nigeria can lectur someone in UK the root cause of racism, how it first started, how it has been a cankerworm, and possible ways to curb it.

You might be experiencing these things first hand, but it doesn't give you the monopoly of all round knowledge about them than someone out there who gets his facts and research right.

Do you know that I might have a contact of people in top heirachys who I exchange knowledge with and gets my facts and figures right coupled with deep research and findings, then lecture you on what you claim you know and experience everyday?

Do you know you might be using an iPhone for a year and still not know tweaks and ways around them, but with what I have gained knowledge of virtually or otherwise, I can show you around on some tweaks and ways around that your iPhone which you think you use everyday.

Like am from imo state and have been here for years, doesn't mean I know the history of imo state, or the underground political undertones that takes place here.
Someone in Abuja might know what happens in my state than me..

Even in my school, I might be going to school everyday, for 5 years, irrespective that I get to experience cultism and activities everyday, yet I might not know that the root cause of cultism in my university is because of the days of wole Soyinka freedom fighting cults..( lol I don't even know these things.)

Stop brushing someone aside because he doesn't live in same place with you,so you think his opinion or findings doesn't hold water...
It sounds more like cyber bullying

Nonsense.
As a black person in Western society, your entire life is an exercise in race relations.
It's the height of ediocy to sit in Nigeria and claim to know more about race relations, than the people who wake up, enter public transport with different races, buy stuff from different races at the shops, work alongside different races at their place of employment, and maybe even go back home to a non-black partner.

For once, accept that you are not well fortified with enlightenment on a particular issue.

You presented a garbage solution to a problem despite claiming to experience it.

You kept thinking that money would solve the problem, when the problem is much grander than that.

You continued to bring up issues in the UK alone as a counter point to racism and I gave you a much broader scope on it. I made you see that racism is a problem that occurs all over the world in different shapes, forms and sizes.

You presenting only UK solutions exposed your limitations to on the subject matter, but trust you to do strong head and never agree.

Is this a Black Lives Matter or a gun control/ no uniform policy matter. We both know even from watching the Wire that if cops go into a property and gunfire comes back, it's anything goes when shots start letting off. Anything moving is likely to get hit.

civil rights violations. I keep saying that there is a big grey area between 2nd amendment rights and Black Lives Matter. If we focus on repealing 2nd amendment, Black Lives will start to matter.
Any situation where 2 people are armed will often escalate, add in the fact that some police harbour prejudice (whether you agree with it or not) then what should be a simple situation will turn into a Police brutality situation.

Take the case A40 brought up. The guy came to his door with a gun after calling the Police to a possible burglary. He saw the Police car pull up and still came to meet Police with a gun in his hand, then dropped the gun a few metres away. Is it racism for the Police to ask him to neutralise himself before carrying any conversation? No. Because that Policeman will get called to 100 such incidents in a year. He only needs to take one of them at face value to lose his life. The Police job in such a situation when both he and a civilian are armed is to give orders for the civilian to stand down and neutralise themselves. I understand given our history with racism, it will be difficult for a black man to hear such orders from a white man without taking it a certain way, but as far as I'm concerned, it is the Cop who gives orders in such a situation not the other way around, and regardless of the skin colour.

It's not everything we must scream racism at. Let's deal with the real matters like this George Floyd case.
Disagree about the 2nd amendment Rights. The 2nd amendment itself is a deterrent factor. Every Citizen should have the rights to defend his self and family. You cannot March into somebody house In the middle of the night and not expect retaliation. It could have been a burglar hiding as policemen. I wish Nigeria gave us the right to legally own fire arms as well.

Succinctly put.
It is very funny in this era, the 21st century, seeing people who still think information can still be limited by distance and time.

All I see nihilist doing is trying to foolishly showoff, everybody here knows he likes to do that.
People who are supporting him on this issue might be having mild inferiority complex and not know it.

It is not everybody that is living abroad that is an intellect.

If there was no 2nd amendment and the guy did not have a gun, it would have been a simple Police bust or simple case of Police raiding the wrong property. I disagree vehemently with citizens owning guns. Gun ownership is first of all a feudalistic mechanism in Europe for landowners to keep peasants at bay. 2nd amendment rights was simply created for Cowboys to protect themselves against Indian reprisals after stealing their land. Having dealt with the Indian threat, plantation owners then needed the idea of 2nd amendment to continue to help control and subjugate their slaves. The idea itself is borne out of racism and conquest and is an abhorrent culture in a society where crime rates are low. Where you have high crime rate like in Nigeria, you may keep a gun at home for safety but it is not a right, and definitely not an open-carry right like in some US states. Once crime rate goes down you abolish any right for citizens to own guns.

1. Do you have to physically interact with non-black people on a daily basis where you are?
2. Have you ever personally experienced racism?

The problem is not much more grander than that. Almost every race on this earth have been enslaved at some point from Hebrews to Barbarians, Britons, Gauls, Indians, Visigoths, Chinese etc etc. Racism is not a new phenomenon and will not go away.

The Romans enslaved and sold many Gauls, Visigoths and Barbarians. They are now called French, Spanish and Germans.

When you hold your side as a people, nobody will mess with you. When you are a beggar, people will trample all over your rights.

Automatic weapons are not legal to buy and are highly regulated . Basically, the only people that can legally have automatic weapons are collectors, and even then it is very very difficult. The federal Govt should have not have such right.

Citizens own guns for various reasons

1) Protection... Everybody should be able to do this.

2) For Sport/ Hunting
Why should anyone be prevented from those. Norway has one of the highest rates of gun ownership, and one of the lowest crime/murder rates in the world. When it's regulated properly then citizens should be allowed own guns. If Nigerians were allowed to own gun legally all these threats of Boko Haram, Sars and police misbehaving will be very low. Especially Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen wahala

War and enslavement have always been a staple feature of mankind.
There is no part of human society that can claim to be untouched by war.

However, racism is a concept that was introduced in the age of enlightenment.
After all the concept of "race" was introduced by science.

Today we are still suffering a legacy of about 4 centuries of racial ideologies.

How do you propose a simple solution to a problem that affects more than 25% percent of the entire human population spread across all continents.

The only real hope to racism is TIME.
one can only hope that with time, more people will shed those beliefs to which they have been indoctrinated into.

No. What makes you think you are better at wielding a gun than a criminal? It is better neither of you have a gun. If you create a scarcity of guns, the statistical probability of a criminal accosting your property with a gun is lower. Almost all UK burglaries do not involve firearms and on the rare occasion they do, there is less likelihood of a fatal outcome since the criminal knows you are not armed so he is in less danger himself and does not need take things to that extent.

Norway has one of the strictest gun control laws in Europe. Gun ownership generally around Europe is limited to Agricultural use, and the caliber of weapons is usually limited to single action non-automatic weapons. This is why we don't have the issues you keep seeing in US even though we may have some prejudiced police officers and citizens.

You see those "you Don hit my car" scenario that happens on Lagos roads everyday, the number of people that will lose their lives through that alone if individuals are allowed to own guns in this country alone....it will be too many to count.

I know somebody close who was a former MD of a company in the financial services before he retired, he was involved in a minor accident. He wasn't feeling too well that day while driving and just branched into a big pharmacy to get drugs he would use on getting home, he was feeling drowsy and before u know it he hit the car in front of him just few meters from the pharmacy.

While he came down and was trying to at least talk to the woman he has insurance cover that would take care of the damage to her vehicle; she lost all decorum tugged at his shirt and did the unimaginable. She took off her heels and actually used it to hit him on the head. It was at this point people gathered and released the gentleman from her grip. Funny enough, the man had to transfer money to her account on the spot before she even allowed him call his insurance people and they later fixed the car

Now imagine if that woman had a gun in that her moment of rage, no be to just kill person papa on the spot?

Then cult boys will resort to driveby shootings like we read about in America

No they won't. Govt Policy is all about statistics . If you create scarcity, the price goes up tremendously and only the most hardened and successful criminals will have access to them. Even those calibre of criminals will find more efficient use for guns than low level home invasions. Statistically you can easily do away with 90% and more of firearm home invasions. We have hundreds if not thousands of burglaries in UK per day and very few involve guns.

How can the Govt create scarcity when they don't control the production of guns and it's distribution. Most Gun production companies if not all are privately owned. Mexico banned the ownership of guns totally by individuals but gun is still every where in that country. No amount of policy will stop criminals, gangs and cults from getting access to guns. Well many European countries/Australia etc are successful at controlling that flow. They will just have to figure it out and Police it properly. Heavy prison sentences for gun trafficking will help in the first place. Nobody will want to do 25 years for trafficking a gun that will earn him $2k. Then gun prices will start approaching $10k and more. That's how you start to create scarcity, and then only serious criminals, not your average home invader will start owning guns.

Declare amnesty and pay people good money for their guns they hand in, then give it a couple of decades and the number of guns in the county will be manageable, and probably only held by drug dealers, same as in Europe. The Mexicans have no incentive to ship guns for common Joe Bloggs, any guns they ship will be for their drug trade.

This is not a theoretical debate but what we have already seen happen in real life.

Gun control in the rest of the Western World (apart from the USA) has led to very low rates of gun violence and gun related deaths compared to the USA.

Then cult boys will resort to driveby shootings like we read about in America
how will a grown man allow a two handed woman bully him like that angry

The woman na tinubu concubine angry
