The best way to know a friend more is to spend more time with that friend. Lack of communication between the two friends will not degenerate into hatred rather you'll just be sad knowing that you could have gained more knowledge if you had been a better communicator.

This is applicable with the Holy Spirit. He doesn't get angry with us. He is just sad when we are not in constant fellowship with him. He always longs for a deep communion with us that's why he is always willing to receive us no matter how far we stray.

What you need to do is spend more time in the study of the word and in prayers. There's no substitute for this. Maintain a healthy relationship with him. Psalms 91:1 says "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High" God is not looking for people who would come and go. Rather, he's looking for people that will devote their time in constant fellowship with him.

Take time to study, pray, listen to his voice and also obey.
