He chose to ignore that bit. And the guy had to single out blacks. Always trying to be superior. I put him back in his place cause it's obvious SA politicians are running the show on the continent.

The names the original poster was complaining about weren't even Afrikaans, except for one - Plaatjie. But yes, most of the ones I quoted back are Afrikaner and Sesotho. Afrikaans is influenced by Dutch, you're right.

These are just the MAIN campuses. Most of them have about 4 campuses each scattered throughout the city.

University of South Africa (Unisa) alone has centres in every city and overseas campuses because it's a distance learning institution.

And I've seen Nigerian universities because of this drone challenge currently on-going on Nairaland. I think you might just be overstating their size.

Nigerian university are among the biggest in Africa by landmass (with the exception of unilag which still has a larger landmass than most RSA unis) and number of students

That wasn't my argument. He was saying SA can afford to build nice quality universities because they are small and are the size of a single faculty in Nigeria. Implying that Nigeria cannot build glossy universities because it requires accommodating more students because of your population size. That's when I showed him that SA also has huge campuses, but does not compromise on quality and maintenance. Hope you get it.

And the fallacy of blocks fending off robbery is absolute fallacy. Your house is as safe as the security in the neighborhood. No matter the height of the fence the only thing you can do to protect it is maybe put in deterrents like cameras, electric safety wiring on top of fencess etc, but those are even useless in some scenarios.

No o bro, sometimes the fencing is required even in public institutions or universities, schools like unilag are in a built up environment with neighbourhoods like bariga, mushin, shomolu, iwaya close by and are very rough neighbourhoods


And you are right as to Nigerian architecture being distasteful especially multi million Naira private/exclusive homes with zero lawns but instead inter locking bricks, I think government should step to regulate it
