Even plants especially grasses have evolved to manipulate us to do their bidding. When we cut grass or when animals graze grass, it doesn't stop them from growing because obviously their growth happens underground, however cutting or grazing the grass helps the grass eliminate other competitor plants around competing for soil nutrient or water, and it helps thicken the grass when it regrows.
Why do you think grazed grass or freshly cut grass always look greener and more attractive? These plants and animals have been controlling us.
