The two vehicles are not in the same category. RX 350 is a midsize luxury SUV while 4 runner is a big size SUV. The engine size are different, cost of maintenance and repair also. You can Google to compare the two.

Lexus RX350 2007-2009 all the way irrespective of their differences in engine capacity, size, horsepower etc. Am still enjoying mine & no regret buying it (RX350).

RX 2007 is 3.5L V6 FI DOHC 24V F4. engine while 4runner 2007 is 4.0L V6 FI DOHC 24V F4.

Most RX are 2WD Sport Utility Vehicles while 4runner are 4WD Sport Utility Vehicles.

RX is rugged and durable and 4runner is very rugged and more durable; and both rarely develop faults especially when properly maintained.

4runner expensive than Rx (all things being equal).

Your friend won't regret driving either of them.

there are 2 types v6 4.0L and v8 4.7L but its just btw the 2003-2008 model. The later models are all v6 engine. But when it comes to durability and bad road and also speed 4runner all they way because i have driven both and 4runner has that heavy feel compared to the rx350 which i feel is way lighter. But if you go for either you will surely enjoy it just make sure you give it what it wants when it ask for it.

- residency of our friend, road network fairly okay or bad? 4runner okay for hinterland trips.
- occupation of our friend? site workers - engineers etc - often use 4runner just like tacoma.
- marital status? kids and most madam would prefer the Rx.

i know i have seen a 2008 version with four wheel drive option and since then i haven't seen any.

You know that feeling of your colleagues and contemporaries using something and you don't have it.

Importantly also, the vehicle is generally VERY OKAY so no qualms.

Yes i have driven a friends 4runner a while back, the 4runner is good don’t get me wrong but i don’t like the 4runner for long distance driving. I still prefer the Lexus RX350 cause i travel a lot
