Imagine you are in an emergency situation and you have run out of petrol but you have Kerosene. Can you power your car with it? The illustrated experiment below confirms if this is possible or not.

Very possible you can power yur gen with kerosine I have done several times
But on cars I can say

Am not sure....
If it is possible am sure it will be a common norm here in Naija

But back in the yesteryears, my former boss used to add diesel+condemned oil in about 60:40 ratio on his Perkins Generator (the type used by block industries, grinding food items and generator) so as to 'save' on diesel expenses. Condemned oil can be sourced almost free from mechanics then.

On petrol engine, there will be incomplete combustion with black smoke with visible particles, but on diesel engine, it can every 10ltr add 50cl of engine oil. To increase viscosity and texture.

Without factoring in a compressor, it is impracticable to power a gasoline engine with Kerosene (DPK)....

Kerosene is not petroleum so there would no sufficient fuel-air mixture for the spark plug to ignite.

You need to incorporate a compressor to supercharge the kerosene air mixture such that it can ignite when the spark plug releases the discharge...
