This is how the people of Niger Delta are wasting the golden opportunity to develop their region. Look at all the billions given to them through the ministry of Niger Delta, NDDC, Amnesty program, 13% derivative and many more. Yet, the region is as backward as Abia state roads. When they see government building anything in the North, they start shouting that money is being gotten from their region to develop the North. They will over look those billions they are squandering through the above mentioned means.

If States like Ebonyi and Borno with paltry allocations and meager internally generated revenues could be building their infrastructure with the speed they are using now, I don't know why the whole of Niger Delta will not be as close as Dubai considering huge amount of money that have been given to them so far.

Funny thing is that, the ministry of Niger Delta, NDDC, Amnesty program, 13% derivative fund etc, are all being managed by their indigenes, and not any Hausa man from the North or anybody from the Yoruba.
Money is never the solution to anything, structure is. Get that. The north has held power forever, it hasn't changed it for the better. The south has held money for decades, it hasn't changed it. Something is fundamentally faulty. That is the structure. Without restructuring nothing can work, no leader can succeed and this nation simply cannot move forward. Remember we are in year 6 of the corruption war yet it rages on. What I said in 2014/15 I am still saying today. What they were boasting about in 2015 on the other hand has all but been retracted. Do you hear from superman Magu anymore....

What do you mean by structure? Are you saying that if the structure changes from what it is today, the people of Niger Delta will become saints overnight? Because I am not aware that anyone from another region has governed or managed their resources on their behalf.

Exactly! People keep shouting "restructuring" as though the new structure will function on its own and automatically checkmate our number one disease: Corruption.

Whatever structure is created after restructuring has been carried out will still be manned by people who will fight tooth and nail to selfishly profit from it regardless of who's expense these illicit gains are derived.

Believing that people who haven't been dilligent with what they've had so far will become more prudent and resourceful overnight simply because more resources are now within their control is laughable.

The majority of the present politicians (and sadly, the upcoming ones in school unions in tertiary institutions in the entire South and Nationwide as well) are in no way the ideal people to diligently utilize your resources in either the current or a more financially-autonomous administrative structure.

Only strong and functional institutions can checkmate corruption and resource abuse, nothing else!

You truly spoke my mind, sometimes I feel disappointed by my people down South South here with their very unfortunate thinking about our predicament cause by others when we are our real problem.

On either side, supporting looters on a very obvious matter about looting is Evil

With all these evidence, no body will take him to court.

You see why I will always say that the Northern leaders are not our problem in south. The southern leaders are the major problem we have here.
