Ella used her mother's illness to extort money from her so called friends.
Her so called friends started having doubts and she distanced herself from them.
They wanted to use her mother's illness to portray themselves as philanthropists but Ella shut them out.They waited for the perfect opportunity to drag her and the opportunity presented itself!
She couldn't defend herself because she wasn't totally honest.
Venita bullied her to feel good about herself.
