A snake owner was attacked and constricted by her over 8 ft pet python she called her 'big girl'. Although snakes rarely attack their owners, they may constrict out of fear or when they smell danger.
By constricting their bodies, this species of python is capable of killing quickly.

The snake was too strong and held a firm grip against her refusing to let go; she had to call a man to help her free the snakes from her shoulder. It was an intense battle with the snake who was adamant to let go. The painful constriction and bites made the lady bleed profusely from her hand.
Although she survived, she was lucky to be alive and grateful that she wasn't alone at that time. She should also be thankful the snake did not constrict her neck; that would have ended worse.

These pythons are a type of snake called a constrictor, which kills by cutting off blood circulation. They don’t, despite popular misconceptions, kill by suffocating their prey but by cutting blood circulation. With eight feet of muscle, constrictors can constrict blood flow to the brain in a matter of minutes.
