This is not enough reason to discredit the report. If 2,000 people die in Jos (God forbid), unless it is by bomb blast or by some boisterous means, the chances that you will not know is very much possible. Going by the speed with which the dead are buried over there, the only people that can tell if there is any spike in death cases are the cemetery attendants and grave diggers. Many deaths can happen silently without your knowing, unless someone close to you is involved. It is possible.
I have not by this concluded that the reason in the spike in death is due to Covid-19, but because we are facing a mysterious pandemic, it is logical for a sane mind to see coronavirus as the easy culprit until a proper medical investigation is done. Those suspecting Covid-19 are very sane and sound, that is what a normal person would do under the circumstances.
Have you not seen Kano's report? No fewer than 400 of the 969 deaths registered during their "mysterious death" saga were due to Covid-19. But that is off record now, but surely for those who were bereaved it is not as easy to push it off the mind!
Those raising alarm are doing the right thing. It is just that the Nigeria of today seems to lack vibrant investigative journalism. I will always miss the days of late Dele Giwa and Ray Ekpu. Nothing was hidden in their days

Some people just don't understand how things work in a society.

I am also in Jos though I don't stay around the said cemetery area but, there is hardly anytime I drive pass that place without seeing mourners there. Sometimes you see more than 2 different groups burying the dead. I always wonder what is going on.

I am not saying it's COVID-19 either, but, recently, the rate at that particular cemetery has increased.

I noticed that since the pandemic no day passes without burials at the cemetery opposite the stadium,whenever i'm passing to go to work you'll see a group burying someone,in the evening same thing.This morning there were two funerals going on there,i just hope for our sake it's not covid 19 related.

I pass that cemetery every morning on my way to work, it's always full with abokis burying people. I been dey wonder Wetin de happen too. Asin since Saturday fa, that place always full by 7 am

The deaths are not reported nor from juth. It's from Bauchi road straight to Zaria road cementery. Several trips per day, several burials same time. It started during fasting, it was thought to be hunger related, but unfortunately it has increased trimendiously after Sallah.
