How Can Things Return To Normalcy During This Pandemic? Suggestions Needed by sureinfo: 3:41pm On Jun 11, 2020
The current outbreak of Covid 19 has led to global uncertainty as the world deals with an unprecedented health situation, many states in Nigeria had enforced lock downs to help curb the spread but even after the 2 weeks to 1 month lock down new cases are still rising up. It is clear that people cannot be kept on lock down forever so finding a way to manage the virus while businesses and organisations resumes seems like the best possible option.

One place people are crowded after most lock downs are in Banks, FCMB stated that all staff and customers must wear face masks for the duration of their stay in their branches, deployment of Security Guards at the entrances of all their premises to check temperatures using hand-held scanners, and Provision of hand sanitizers which must be used before entry into the banking halls and ATM areas just to name a few. These measures were outlined to keep their customer and staff safe and i couldn't help but wonder what other organisations that are not in the banking sector are doing to manage the spread of this virus.

People must move and businesses have to return to normal, Imagine a viewing center re opening now that football has resumed or the worship centers or even the markets where people go to buy what they need, the virus hasnt been completely eradicated so what will be the best way to manage this virus while businesses return to normal? suggestions needed pls.

I dont think its only FCMB that have taken such measures, other banks too and I dont think things can ever return normal during this pandemic, the best that can happen is for the Government to enforce wearing of face masks everywhere.

Personally, I don't think the World will come back to normal..

People should just start their lives and businesses..

It's gonna be from one Earth shaking event to the other..

The UN has cancelled its 75th National Assembly slated to hold in September. The first time such a thing is gonna happen in History.

Nations and Continents are being hit with Plagues of various types and size.

From floods, to Locust and Grasshoppers to tornadoes, earthquakes, etc. infact many of the things happening in Nations and Continent are no longer covered by the media..

No one knows what is next...

Normal I think we're far from normal for now, every organization has to just draft out their own safety measures just as most banks and hospitals are doing. With help coming from institutions like FCMB, Dangote, Telecom companies and certain foriegn countries tests will increase and the viruse might be managed as much as it could. But for now I think we're far from normalcy.

OP, I believe banks across Nigeria employed the facemask measures. Things are no longer the way they were.

Just imagine having to queue before going into the bank premises, I don't even want to get started with worship places. The global pandemic which initiated the worldwide lockdown, has changed our lifestyle.

I believe this too shall pass.

This pandemic has to end, before normalcy can return.

But before then, I believe there are organisations who ve tried to to help out in everyway they can, like; TECNO, UBA, FCMB, Airtel, and few others. I appreciate these organisations, and I really wish others would follow suit.

To be very honest, trying to curb the spread of the pandemic in Nigeria will be a herculean task, seeing the government ve made no provision for the masses to survive.

If not for brands, and organisations out there who are really taking it upon themselves to do something, the hunger would ve been the cause of casualties and not the pandemic.

okay so you're saying we have to accept the way things are now, things like standing in long queues before entering banks should now be normalized? no more watching of soccer in viewing centers? no more going to clubs and bars? how about schools?

Face mask and hand sanitizer will be the new normal and I think it's going to continue for years until like a vaccine is found.

even the DG of NCDC once said thing wont return to normal until like next year, we have to just accept that things have changed, meanwhile the necessary guidelines set by the governing health bodies should be enforced in every establishment, that way businesses can open and still put people on check to obey safety protocols.

irrespective of the number of cases discovered each day I think the lock down played a major role in curbing the spread of the virus. it could have been worse then this believe me and tracking down of suspected cases would have been more difficult.

Life is gradually retuning back to normalcy most especially here in Lagos. People are slowly going back to work. We shall overcome the pandemic.

yeah. A lot of them has done this but is it being enforced.? At a big Bank's Surulere branch yesterday, it was not the case. People were literally talking into each other's mouths. It's good that organizations like FCMB are doing the needful

Things can only return to full normalcy when this pandemic is over, and that will be a long time to come, for now the best we can do is to practice social distancing, establishments shouldn't let people in without face masks or washing their hands.

BE PREPARED

Everyone is telling you how to NOT catch #coronavirus, but NO ONE is saying what to do if you get it. Thanks to this nurse in the UK for putting this guide together:

Finally, some sensible advice. From a GP Nurse in the UK.

What I have seen a lot of are recommendations for how to try to avoid getting coronavirus in the first place:

• good hand washing
• personal hygiene
• social distancing

but what I have NOT seen a lot of is advice for what happens if you actually get it, which many of us will.
So as your friendly neighborhood Nurse let me make some suggestions:

If you get Covid-19

You basically just want to prepare as though you know you’re going to get a nasty respiratory bug, like bronchitis or pneumonia. You just have the foresight to know it might come your way!

Things to start doing now:

Get 20 minutes sun on your entire body (or as much as possible) every day. This will dramatically increase your Vitamin D levels, which improves your immune system.

If affordable take a good general supplement, plus 2000mg Vit C a day. Include ZINC, SELENIUM & GLUTATHIONE.

Scott’s Emulsion is a great general tonic (cod liver oil)

Things you should actually buy ahead of time:

*Kleenex*

*Paracetamol*

*Cough medicine* of choice (check the label and make sure you're not doubling up on Paracetamol)

*Zinc lozenges*

*Throat spray* like Andolex or TCP

*Honey and lemon* can work just as well!

*Vicks* vaporub for your chest is also a great suggestion.

*A humidifier* would be a good thing to buy and use in your room when you go to bed overnight. (You can also just turn the shower on hot and sit in the bathroom breathing in the steam)

*If you have a history of asthma* and you have a prescription inhaler, make sure the one you have isn’t expired and refill it/get a new one if necessary.

*Meals* This is also a good time to meal prep: make a big batch of your favorite soup to freeze and have on hand.

*Hydrate* hydrate, hydrate! Stock up on whatever your favorite clear fluids are to drink, though tap water is fine you may appreciate some variety!

*For symptom management* and a fever over 38°c take Paracetamol rather than Ibuprofen.

*Rest lots* You should not be leaving your house! Even if you are feeling better you may will still be infectious for fourteen days and older people and those with existing health conditions should be avoided!

*Wear gloves and a mask* to avoid contaminating others in your house

*Isolate* in your bedroom if not living alone, ask friends and family to leave supplies outside to avoid contact.

*Sanitize* your bed linen and clothes frequently by washing and clean your bathroom with recommended sanitizers.

*You DO NOT NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL unless* you are having trouble breathing or your fever is very high (over 39°C) and unmanaged with meds.

90% of healthy adult cases thus far have been managed at home with basic rest/hydration/over-the-counter meds.

If you are worried or in distress or feel your symptoms are getting worse:

*Pre-existing risks* If you have a pre-existing lung condition (COPD, emphysema, lung cancer) or are on immunosuppressants, now is a great time to talk to your Doctor or specialist about what they would like you to do if you get sick.

*Children* One major relief to you parents is that kids do VERY well with coronavirus, they usually bounce back in a few days (but they will still be infectious) Just use pediatric dosing .

*Be calm and prepare rationally* and everything will be fine. This is to inform us all that the pH for corona virus varies from 5.5 to 8.5.

All we need to do, to beat corona virus, we need to take more of an alkaline foods that are above the above pH level of the Virus.

Some of which are:

*Lemon - 9.9pH*
*Lime - 8.2pH*
*Avocado - 15.6pH*
*Garlic - 13.2pH*
*Mango - 8.7pH*
*Tangerine - 8.5pH*
*Pineapple - 12.7pH*
*Dandelion - 22.7pH*
*Orange - 9.2pH*

How do you know you have coronavirus?

1. Itching in the throat
2. Dry throat
3. Dry couch
4. High temperature
5. Shortness of breath
6. Loss of sense of taste & smell
7. Covid toes - toes turning blue/black
8. Repeated sneezing.

Some or all of the above

So where you notice these things quickly take warm/hot water with lemon and drink. (You may add chopped garlic, ginger, teaspoon turmeric )

Do not keep this information to yourself only. Pass it to all your family and friends.

I admire the donations establishments like FCMB are making in Nigeria but talking about normalcy the thing is this, a lot has changed no doubt and since contacting the virus isnt a death sentence, people are recovering, and more people are still discovered to be positive, we might as well go back to normal activities but this time adhere to set down guidelines for safety(like wearing of face masks, washing of hands etc). I think that's the best possible way to manage the virus while businesses resume as normal.
