I'm not a tecno fan but before xiaomi fans fill up this thread let me just say this. I have a Samsung Galaxy A70 and on the spec sheets it says 32mp main shooter but using the same software u used it is registered as 8mp. Should we also say Samsung lied about their specs? I think there are more things we don't understand than we do. Samsung is a global brand and will be in big trouble if they put an 8mp sensor in their phone and claim it is 32mp. Out of the box it shoots at 8mp, but if u want to use 32mp u have to change the camera settings. This might also be the case with tecno camon 15.

Why is your phone binning four 8MP photos to make 32MP? Out of the box the default should be 12MP

That is because the 48MP works on the principle of pixel binning and they used a 4x1 system. What the app recognised is the base or default resolution which is 12MP, A 64MP under 4x1 binning should shoot 16MP by default.

The issue is they never specify the manufacturer and model of their lenses and some lenses are useless and not needed. Example is the QVGA lens they keep bundling on their devices from entry to their flagship models.

You are very right sir.
But not only that but also this.
Tecno claimed they used a 48mp camera lens on the Camon 15 pro, on an mtk p35 chipset. A lot of us wasn't buying that ambiguous claim.
Tecno in an attempt to push back the inquisition actually worsen a sensitive situation by claiming they used a Sony 64mp camera lens on the camon 15 premier and went thus far to state they used pixel binning Technology to archive this feat. ************ let me leave that details out for now.
To call that dubious bluff by Tecno, a new inquiry was launched to ascertain the actual Sony 64mp sensor in the Tecno camon premier.

I have a few stops of my own... I will update this thread on a relevant information soon.

Only fools believes those specs shit declear by tecno, manufacture of engine says my engine can only speed up 22mile per hour but the marketer says it speeds at 45miles per hour. You are at ur own peril and likely foolish if you believe the marketer over the manufacture.

This is exactly same scenerio between Mediatek, Tecno and the buyer who belives in tecno specs over what mediatek who manufacture the engine inside tecno camon 15 says.

They are asking for certain proprietary disengagement.
That is, if they comment on the matter I will be under legal obligation to not state or quote the name Sony in my injunction or the source of my findings, and I will be fully responsible for my disclosure.
I am not even allowed to share the follow up mail via screenshot anymore.
But I am working on something, and hopefully it will soften Sony's resolve.

Let's be honest, if I come out and say viaaaam.... Tecno didn't use a Sony lens... Wetin that one go mean?
Except I can get at least 3 or more reputable sources who will stick it out publicly. Na waste.

Indeed sir, to be exact. A senior representative in Sony marketing arm told me weeks ago, Sony won't bend except I can get a lot of people to join the inquisition to make it a public matter.

I dey try, but the awareness seem to not be enough. Sony wants to help, but the laws governing their marketing strategy won't let them... I am not sure, but Sony may have already contacted Tecno/Transission holdings on the matter, and pending Tecno's decision, Sony might delay on this forever. Except I can get at least 90 or more persons tweeting this

If this happens, Twitter would notify Sony and Tecno on the uproar the inquisition is causing, and Tecno and Sony would have to give a public statement on the matter via twitter to quench the uprising.

Twitter is working to halt the advertising of false product on their platform, Tecno might lose their verified signature if false advertising is found in their dealings.
