Here come the stat mongers, he was a DM. you know, defensive midfielder? whose primary job wasn't to score goals
We know. But wot about Babayaro n Yobo whose works were purely defensive? Dey av more goals than him.So is not about playing position in de field, it's abt individual's prowess.

Remove Hamed Musa to replace him with Julius Efosa Aghahowa
For what?
Does he score world cup goals for Nigeria more than Musa?

Is Okocha a striker? Why are you complaining about 14 goals for a dribbling midfielder?
Was Lampard a striker? He played the same position with J.J.But look at his EPL goal tally.

He never would have been nominated. There's no need to bring sentiments into this.

The best players from Africa aside from George Weah and Samuel Eto is Yaya Toure and maybe Salah and Mane.
U mean u can rate Yaya Toure above Papilo? No,u r getting it wrong.

Many players on that list did not play for Nigeria in World Cup let alone having World Cup goal but they are a legend of the game as far as Nigeria Super Eagles is concern.

It is absolutely impossible to rank Musa higher than the likes of Julius Efosa Aghahowa, Jonathan Akpoborie, Henry Nwosu, Dimeji Lawal,Thunder Balogun, and many other fantastic players that have graced the GWG hall of fame. In fact, Musa is stilla baby player and doesn't deserve any mention yet until he proved himself worthy of a true ambassador of the game in our jersey.

Bros. Forget sentiments. Even non-Africans will rate Yaya above Kanu. I'm not underrating the latter's prowess but considering the stint, persistence and records that Yaya has, Kanu is still by little mile less in ranks

Ok,on a lighter note,he is a longer serving EPL player than obagoal. Its not easy to last long like that in EPL n still relevant to ur club.Ask Do Maria how it is.

Then the list is not consistent because Martins was in the Premier league for about the same period of time as Odemwingie.

De last time I checked,Teslim Balogun was in dat list.Talking abt Akpoborie, his wasn't impactful in de Eagles as Musa.Henry Nwosu, yes,a good player he was.In dia days with de likes of Christopher Ohehe, dey make shit happen in football no doubt. But Musa commitment to Eagles course, his inspiration n motivation to team mates in de field of play score him higher than Nwosu.Back to our initial subject of debate,Aghahowa. He has a very short spell with Eagles.U cannot compared a player dat reign for a season or two with a player dat reigns consistently for 5 or more seasons.Musa is quick, very pacy with great vision on goal than Aghohowa. He can run down de opponents line of defense in few seconds thereby making many goalkeepers prone to goal conceding.
Yes,he is still a baby player as u said. But his performance has already outweighed that of Aghahowa n as such,he deserves a place in de list over him.

It's only non-Africans who didn't watch Kanu in his hay days dat can rate Toure Yaya above him.
It's not sentiment bros.Kanu is a game changer anytime, any day.U talked abt records, which record did Toure has in de round leather game dat Kanu doesn't had? Will you talk abt EPL trophies,FA cups, best player in de continent, world cup(age grade cadre),UEFA CL, Olympic gold medals or even sublime goal scoring record?
In fact, Toure is 3 steps below Kanu in dis regards.

Did he do his job as a defensive midfielder effectively? Yes, and that is solely what he should be judged by. Not by goal contributions

Yes,but Martin's performance did not match Osaze's.
Come to think of it.......Osaze spent abt de same periods as Martin's in EPL just as u rightly said. But Osaze was used 129 times while Martin was used only 96 times(EPL appearance).Dat shows u how good n reliable he was as compared to Obagoal.Osaze scored a total of 36 Epl goals while Martin scored 26.He was voted player of de months for 3 consecutive seasons while Martin never had any.De only individual award martins had was de goal of de year award.
I still remember dat goal wen he made a swift turn in between two Burnley defenders n scores.
Now, looking at de brief individuals stats I av just given,if u wer de OP,will Martin had made ur list of Nigeria's top 10 EPL players of all time at de expense of Osaze?Be sincere with ur answers.

No, he would have made my list at the expense of Ameobi. That is the point.

In bringing Odemwingei up, I am trying to demonstrate that longevity in the league ought not to be a factor. You used longevity to judge and that is clearly not an important metric otherwise Odemwingie wouldn't be there either.

There is no question Martins left far more of a mark on the premier league than Shola Ameobi who was never a respected player.
Re: Top 10 Nigerian Footballers In Premier League History by sammyesx: 2:13pm On Jun 16, 2020
I think Mikel obi is highly underrated, in football wen u rate players u rate them by their longevity and achievements. Chelsea was

One of the best club during that period they contested for the league title yearly, Chelsea had the funds to purchase World class

DM but they decided to keep Mikel, he was not scoring but different coaches decided to keep him means he has something special

he offered the team. Mascherano scored only one goal through out is barca carear yet he was an undisputed starter. Despite barca

Being an attacking team busquet has less than 30 goals for barca.

Mikel is in fact the best nigerian player to have played in the epl
