Hi GAZZUZZ,
I wanted to ask you this before I take my car to any mechanic.
I own a 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Recently, It started stalling when in traffic. If I stop and want to move again, the engine would go off and I have to start it again. I had this problem with my previous car, a Dodge Charger. But my mechanic could not fix it so I sold the car
Thanks.
GAZZUZZ answer me please, the problem is getting annoying and embarrassing
folarr:

Gazzuzz I asked for your workshop some days ago to repair my car and you have not replied me.
I ask again please where is your workshop

Brothers, finally sold my troublesome Muscle. grin

Now, I'm considering buying a very clean Naija-used 2006 Lexus Es330 with 187k miles at N1,550,000.

Or

Clean Tokunbo 4-plug 2008 Honda Accord with 191K miles at N1,650,000

I'm confused on selecting one. Opinions please?

Which do you recommend?

Good AFTERNOON Gazzuzz

I am here with my 2003 Highlander v6 4wd again.

Noticed that when I'm on cruising speed at 100-120kmph, the rpm is between 2500 to 3000.

However, on the same speed with my 07 es350, the rpm is usually between 1800 to 2000.

I have a feeling the highlander doesn't get into the last gear. And it consumes a lot of fuel. No actual or pending error codes on the car.

How do I resolve this, please?

Thank you.

Like my mentor Gazzuzz rightly said, there's nothing wrong with your transmission.
It's a 4speed transmission compared to your Lexus which is a 6speed.

That said, run a live scan to know what you can find. Hope you know the parameters to look out for?

Thanks Kingreign

Dunno the parameters to look out for. But I'll run the live scan and share screenshots.

Good evening sir GAZZUZZ
I'm having problem with Honda civic 1999 manual..
The car starts fine but with high Rev..
When I go easy, it'll only jerk a little in gear two and three then normalize with higher gear and higher speed.
The car hesitates a little when I push the pedal down hard then pick up speed.
The engine vibrates sometimes when starting up in the first gear.
The engine loses power while driving and letting off the accelerator and maintain power other times.
Thank you

Good morning Oga Gazzuzz.

I want to replace my Odyssey car engine, I then decided to follow your advice by doing a VIN check. Most of the engines do not have the VIN tags, I was even thinking maybe those guys were deliberating removing the tags. I finally got one with tag and did a check.

For the only engine I was able to check, the last reported location was Canada in 2017 and the Odometer was reported as 286,000 kilometres as at then shocked. The mileage is quite scary but its a 2005 engine, though my car is 2006, but I guess the engine can also work for my 2006.

I am in a fix on what is a good buy for the 2006 vehicle. Kindly advise.

Only engines from USA and Canada have vintags on the engine and transmission.

2005/2006 is same engine.

Goodluck

P.s that's just 171,000miles

Thanks for your response, really appreciate. I have checked another one but now confused on which to choose.

Please if you were in my shoes, which will you select based on the points below?

Option 1

2005 engine used by 3 previous owners as personal vehicle in Ontario
Much of the servicing history not shown
Reported mileage of 177,712 (mileage inconsistency was highlighted, though from my personal observation it was consistent from zero to 179,880 in July 2015)
Still in Canada early this year but eventual fate of the vehicle not known.

Option 2

2006 engine used by 2 previous owners as personal vehicle in Ohio
Very consistent servicing history shown on report by same garage from 2005 until 2nd owner took over in 2019.
Reported actual mileage of 209,381
Still in the US early this year, had accident in February, 2020 and was declared total loss by Insurance, was thereafter issued salvage title.

I would base my decisions on how they look on the inside, and if they have been tampered with.

Ok then, thank you. To what extent can an engine be opened for assessment?

Good evening Gazzuz. I want to ask if Coastal 5w-30 is ok for Sienna 05. That is what is common around here. Should I use it or I should make sure I get the Toyota oil you always recommend here. I also want to ask how much you think I should budget for civic 07 steering rack and pump. Can Gazzuz logistics supply? Thank you

you don't fix by removing. Pay more attention to your repairs.

I guess you do not have a Thermostat any more an your fans are wired directly.

Immediate consequences are higher than usual fuel consuption.

long term engine life span will be reduced greatly
This bold part is what a lot of Nigerians don't understand. You can't make things work better by removing some of its parts. You can't be smarter than the manufacturers.
I respect you Mr. Gazzuzz

Good morning sir trust you and the family are good, thank you for the good work you’ve been doing here please I need your suggestions here as I’m in a confused state.
Which would you prefer in terms of durability and maintenance and why
Honda Accord 2008-2010 Or Toyota Camry sport 2008-2011 thanks for your input. Please note both would be Nigeria used and when I’m ready you’ll be the one to help me go inspection , but I just want to know which I should conclude on first .

The answer is subjective based on current status. Nigerians have a thing for 20w50 and thermostat delete.
