Lagos is actually what is called conurbation in Human geography. you can google it to know more. some of these people just do not understand what Lagos is. it is probably the only conurbation we have on the continent.

yes. and i am impressed by what they did. they have hosted the best world cup as far as glamour and glitz are concerned.
and as far as i am concerned too. this is despite the usual western propaganda against developing nations for trying something big.
i know the level of bad press being given by the likes of global media in the run up to that world cup.

however, we should have been the ones to host that tournament had it been the opportunity came in the the 90's when there was still a good national orientation among Nigerians not now that there is wide spread cynicism and intense pessimism among the people. and they think they are being smart. the only way Nigeria can solve its infrastructure problems is if she attempts to host a major world tournament like the olympic games.
i have noticed we wake up when there is international eyes on us. you won't want to disappoint. if we had hosted the world cup in 2010, our roads would have been fixed. our trains would have been fixed long ago before now. our airports would have given been upgraded.
a lot of the infrastructure SA has today were put in place when they hosted the world cup. the good thing there is the fact that these infrastructures last long for you and i to use. it can become our own share of the national cake.

I will of the same school of thought that hosting a major event like Olympics or world cup will forever changed and improve infrastructure in Nigeria.

Yes, there were a lot of criticism about the Eko energy design, because it was kinda boring, so that's why they change the design, and i'm glad a proper design is coming on board.

Perhaps, the former design was poor. I think this is better.

There are many projects going on in EAC and we will soon begin to see them.

Developments are already going on in these states you mentioned, as i'm talking to you now, Abeokuta, in Ogun state is having an urban renewal, and building one of the biggest malls in Nigeria, while Ibadan is building a world class bus station, and other things, like i told you, these are neighboring states to Lagos, people prefer to live in these state, while they work in Lagos, so the states are not bad, but just lack opportunities, because a lot of companies are not there, but Ogun state, will be the home of train manufacturing plant, all trains will be manufactured there, and that's another big development, so these state are developing, but not at the pace of Lagos yet.
And like i told you before, other sea ports are being developed around the country, and the existing sea ports in other states are being rehabilitated, and also reaching ships, so soon Lagos will be reduced in traffic congestion.
As for Dangote, he's just the biggest brand, although he has more influence, than others, but he does have a competitions, like the BUA Group
