If truly you have a passion for lecturing then the salary should not be your concern go for your passion and you will make it but from what I can see, you don't really have a passion for lecturing, it is where the salaries is that you are concern with, so please redefine what your passion is.

Why do you want to know?

Regardless of your work experience outside academia, getting into requires you to start from the bottom. With an MSc, you'd start as an Assistant Lecturer.
I do not know if the CONUASS also applies to FCOE but it is likely to be different.

You don't have any burning passion. You've been offered and you are considering which is more rewarding.

If truly lecturing is your calling, then you won't focus on ephemerals like pay et al. Incase you decide to let this opportunity pass you, please pass the baton to me.

OP passion without money is a no go area o, your passion should be able to put food on your table and help you actualize your dreams otherwise its not a passion but fantasy...
If lecturing cannot do that then look for another passion otherwise your students will suffer in your hand grin

Lol, thank you @ Lamasta. Others don't have joy at all. So because I have passion for lecturing, I should work without pay or will passion feed my family? I should strike a balance and set my priorities right.
Honestly, granted that I have passion for it, I also have to take cognizance of the fact that I have some bills to pay, coupled with the fact that I will sacrifice my current job.
I am very sure my current earning is comparatively higher than what is obtainable in the academic setting, but the passion drives me stupendously. However, I can't sacrifice my family's upkeep on the alter of passion. That is why I want to know the exact amount in order to know if the passion is worth sacrificing for.
Please, anybody with useful information should let me know my brothers and sisters in the Lord.

In Nigeria, money and passion moves in the same direction
If pay is good, passion will surface
Anyway, I think the payment is not lucrative
As at 2007, payment in Oyo state college of education was less thank 70k.
What our lecturers were using to sustain was the sales of handouts

Please note, if you graduated from a college of education, you have a better chance of being promoted but if you didn't pass through college of education at all, you will need to work for 3years before having chance of being promoted because they assume that you do not have a sound understanding of the system.
This principle is applicable back then

The inform may not suit your enquiry 100% but it may be useful in the process

Thanks, but Oyo State College of Education should ordinarily pay lower than a Federal College of Education. Just like State University and Federal University.
