Nairobi33:I agree with you on the points you made about the francophones potentially setting themselves up for another colonial rule, but what other options are available to them since Africa cant get her acts right and United, especially in the area of having a common currency? Gaddafi fought for that to happen, so did several other african leaders. But all we hear about is just discussions upon discussions, no progress at all. France stepped in to motivate the fracophone countries to decide and they did, obviously they are aware of the impacts of their sacrifice. Euro wasnt created for no reason, and the impacts of reliance on dollars greatly changed many economies in Europe. Africa refused to change, and still have divided economies and stunted growth. Read through http://www.usfunds.com/interactive/the-true-size-of-africa/ yet no progress. So, I'm of the view that african countries that believe being watched over will bring them some dynamics are on the right track. Will Nigeria be the way it is today if the British still watched over it? There is no unity within Nigeria alone, let alone with her fellow african nations. If yoruba, ibos, and hausas sit together to decide on something that can be of value to everyone, reaching an agreement could take a lifetime because each tribe suspects the other, let alone all african countries with so divided cultures and mentalities. That will take eternity for it to materialize. I dont want my future grandkids to become grandparents themselves before the African continent decide on a common currency. So, the francophones know what they're doing and it's their best alternative for now. |

Edopesin:france has those francophones in their pockets, they want to add Nigeria and ghana to complete list under the guise of single currency. Why should france be the guarantor of the currency? Thief! |
