There is dis virus which attacks any exe file be it an already installed app on a system or the installer. Upon infection it changes the file size to 1.540mb even if the original exe file size is 1terabyte (just kidding anyways)....and when u take a look at the description of the file it shows Geacata. Not only dat when u such affected launcher it takes a longer time to open dats if hasn't been totally corrupted cos upon full corruption it will bring a prompt meaning its corrupted.
This same virus is the reason why external removable devices such as our pen drives and external hard drives icons changes to folder icon (very annoying) it also attacks and change the internal drive icons of a system too not only the externals. The most painful of it all is no antivirus i av used has bin able to detect nor fix this problem.
I know am not the first with this issue...alot wud av faced dis scourge to and find a way to get rid of the virus without having to format. Plz i wud like us to assist by sharing ways by which this particular menace can be fixed.

Had an experience with this virus, the solution was to format and reinstall Windows.

I can get rid of the pain and any other virus, but this geacata damn I couldn't till today what it does is anytime I lunch a program it shows as the program in task manager than executes the program itself!! some sneaky virus do you have any idea on how to remove it?

I had no idea but i think I copied it with file from someone's PC to my hard disk or maybe I downloaded a file with it online. I also found a way to fix it sef I can't recall the exact steps but it was a pain in the ass.
After I reinstalled it, it came back again and I'm 100% sure I ain't careless with my online activity so it's hot to be one of my offline softwares that has it. I fixed and it never came back.
