But it's easier said than done..... moreover as a president then, if you weren't the type that takes good advice for implementation..... don't expect another to heed to yours..... this thing called politics is a game to the players.

Well, I still have my respect for General Obasanjo for his:
1. Operation feed the nation program in late 70s
2. GSM technology during his second term in office
3. Bringing Sanusi on board to change our banking game
4. Bringing Ngozi Okonjo on board for the huge debt relievement (unfortunately, Jonathan and Buhari have made everything far worse again. They both wasted our resources).

However, I have issues with OBJ in regards to power, database and truthfulness. OBJ should answer for the money he wasted on power. Honestly, he needs to answer questions. Also, the problems we have today is database. How can a criminal run away from the US or UK,and as soon as he enters Nigeria, he/she is free. A drug baron is a senator in Ogun, another deported one who illegally entered the US again is a king, and many show off senators like the one sacked from Kogi always singing useless song with his useless voice always off key. Gush!

If we have a good database, it is easy to track anyone. OBJ spent so much money on power and national id card with nothing to show. Yet, when Sanusi and CBN introduced BVN identification so they can track our finances, it worked well. When Lagos wanted a database for tax collection, it worked well. So, what are we talking about in this country? Seriously, I dont understand again.

Again, I respect OBJ, but he made too many blunders. He was the one who was to crush corruption instituted by General Banabagida, but he failed to do it. Buhari used to be the hope as we used to know him as Mr. Integrity, but he has failed too. His performance is the worst president Nigeria has had so far. He failed in 1983 to 85 and he is failing seriously presently.

So, for people in power and authority to have the mind to loot funds donated (not generated) to fight Covid-19 is flabbergasting. Mehn! Nigeria is already drowned. I am wiping daily cos this country has wounded me too much.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has mocked the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for its “initial politicized and badly handled palliative measures”.

He identified six areas Nigeria must give attention in order to recover from the COVID-19.

He gave the suggestions on Friday at the 2020 Sobo Sowemimo Annual Lecture held at Abeokuta Club, Ogun State.

Obasanjo told the government to urgently start the process of getting the economy back on track.

His speech was entitled “COVID-19 and Nigeria Security Issues: They Way Forward”.

“The first is food availability and security. Second is employment and job security. Third is change in the pattern and style of living including travelling. Fourth is innovation, science, technology, digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. Fifth is local content, raw materials and substitutes. Sixth is diversification of the economy and enhancement of export commodities.”

He said with good leadership, right policy, public and private sectors working together, and the civil society joining hand, all the six areas can achieved.

“I hope that Africa, as a continent, will emerge economically stronger from COVID-19. For us in Nigeria, we have no alternative but to get it right. Otherwise, the future will be worse than the present that is uncertain and bleak with economic downturn and pervasive insecurity.”

Obasanjo, however, commended the efforts of the federal and governments in tackling the pandemic.

“Although, restriction is being lifted, we are not out of the woods yet. Awareness-raising must continue and we must disabuse the minds of the ordinary people who are being made to believe that COVID-19 is not real or that it is the disease of the rich. They must be conscious of the fact that the disease has no social or economic limitation or barrier.

“We must not let down our guard because we may not have reached the peak yet. If the epicenter has moved from China in Asia to Europe to North America and now to Brazil in South America, Africa may or may not escape being an epicenter. And even then, we must be prepared for the possibility of a second wave.

“The UK’s claim of inventing a cure drug, dexamethasone, has not been disputed.

In fact, it has been recommended by WHO for treatment in acute cases and we should be equipped with such drug. It is also hoped that a vaccine will soon be available. When that happens, we should quickly be equipped with it, as COVID-19 like flu may never completely disappear from the surface of the earth.

a drug baron also became Governor of a whole Lagos state and later appointed his drug sniffing customer as Lagos Governor.

Respect to Baba Obasanjo. They are not birds of same feather. There was no nepotism in OBjs appointments and he employed the best.
